Silver Dapple?

#114248 Posted on 2017-07-14 17:56:50

I'm not sure where to put this since it's mostly a query, and not a suggestion or bug. Moving on:: has anyone found a possibility for silver dappled horses? If so, which breed and what genetic traits?

The silver dapple gene is just silver, however the way it's implemented in this game isn't very accurate in terms of how it reacts to horses in real life unfortunately. I don't believe we can get a horse that looks exactly like that^^

As an alternative you can also go for a flaxen liver chestnut, that way you get the lighter mane/tail and still have dapples via the sooty gene. The silver gene does give you dapples but doesn't lighten the mane/tail all that much

Well that's really unfortunate. I think they're quite lovely. I'd be over the moon to see a silver dapple like the example in game.

A Seal Brown Chinoteague with Silver and Sooty is about as close as I could get messing around.

Unfortunately the game treats silver as a white marking, when it actually behaves like a dilute, just like cream and dun. Black pigment on the body (entire coat in black bases, just the points in bay bases) gets a slight dilution, while the mane and tail get a strong dilution, often becoming a sort of blonde colour, or even white. I'd love to see the art get revamped, but that's probably not going to happen any time soon, if at all. :( I expect there'd be a lot of work involved to produce unique art for all the different silver combinations, especially considering how many breeds can have silver.

Chocolate dapple (silver on black) is one of my absolute favourite horse colours. ♥

I have noticed this as well. Silver Dapple is a form of dilution, not a "marking/pattern" as others have said. Silver dapple horses are gorgeous but I am pretty bummed with how TERRIBLE some of the breeds look since since it isn't displayed as a dilution but as a pattern. I wish this could be fixed. Maybe someone should post in the suggestions??   :)
