*More Shows

Not sure if this has been suggested, but back in the old EV days, Abbey used to have a minimum amount of shows that would run automatically. I'm old school and would rather hand show, but I don't want to put all my horses against each other when there is always a limited amount of shows being run. Personally, I made my spare a deluxe just to make more shows, but it's still not enough.

My point is to have a minimum amount of shows per level (like 100 or something) and members can make more on top of that.

same. i am hand showing them right now and it's either i put them in all cheap shows and they are against each other or i have to pay up to $5000 per horse to show them separately. ):  

It kind of feels like entering shows isnt a viable option anymore. It's a huge gamble now a days. I have horses that will win all ten shows and get 12 stat points, and the next days gain maybe 1-2. 

I was also thinking maybe we could set our accounts to automatically run shows that we specified. I thought the coding for that may be annoying so just having shows run automatically by a random show side account would be easier.

I've had some awesome people offer to make me shows, but I feel so annoying asking everyday.

Agreed! I have lost count of how much I have spent buying arenas just to make shows for my horses. I hand-show as well so I purposely try not to place more than 2 in a show at a time.

@Styx - I would love to auto-generate shows... I just forget to make them. I have plenty of arenas. 

I also like the default minimum if there aren't enough shows in a particular level. 

I wish there were a way for us to gauge which levels needed more shows (based maybe on the number of horses that competed in that level the day before, or as an average of the past 30 days).

Game generated shows take money out of the system that could potentially go towards players. Personally I'd prefer an auto-create for player shows instead. 

But perhaps we should just encourage more people to create shows? I know personally I don't create shows unless I have spare time or one of my horses happens to need shows of a certain category. Then I create shows for the areas in the table that are lowest, usually below 20 shows. but are there really places where shows are that critical? If so maybe those should be better highlighted for people to see. We have great stats on the stats page to give rough numbers of the horses in each discipline at the general grades, but unfortunately that also counts locked horses and all those horses that don't do shows. 

We used to have the problem of too many shows back when Riding schools were first implemented I remember creating shows and having no money to collect because my shows ran through without entries. So I stopped creating shows a lot and only did it when I needed them. But it's quite possible that's changed, and I'd be very happy if it had! We'll just have to bring out mindset back around to creating shows because they make us money.

For N1 western, I can't even show my horses there because there is either no shows or 12-13 entries in each class. I feel my odds are better in riding school at that point.

And in diriving, it's been poppin' in those too. Almost  every level classes are full. And I make 400 classes a day between my two accounts alone. I've whittled my hand show stock down to like 10 because shows are so busy. :/

either way, we need generated shows as some lack in certain discipline while not so in others, would be nice for game to host auto creating shows on daily basis

I feel like having some kind of registry to collect data of how many horse actively show would really help this situation and give everyone a better idea of how many shows need to be created. 

What if we simply had a spot where we could "request these shows"?

You would create a request with the discipline, level, number of desired shows, and desired price or price range - 

A deluxe player with available shows would come by and click "Create These Shows" (maybe set a max of creating 10 requested shows per hour or per 10 minutes?)

and the requester would then be notified that their request has been filled?

The issue we are facing is that demand for shows is outstripping supply. I think there are a number of different ways we could resolve this show drought:
1. Increase the show cap from 200 to maybe 250 or 300 so that those who do make shows can make more of them.
2. Implement a system that allows us to better see where shows are needed.
3. Simplify or automate the creation of player-made shows so that more people are willing to create shows.
I think game-made shows should be a last resort. In the past it's only ever been a temporary measure when there's been some glitch or alteration to the game that has resulted in almost no shows being available for a short period of time.

One part of this issue is that the table showing the amount of shows available in each discipline/grade is quite limited, and it's not always easy to see from this where the shows are needed. It shows supply, but not demand, which we can only guess at. Improving this system (point #2 above) would greatly help but I don't know how we could go about this. Also, this table seems to be buggy, and frequently overestimates the number of shows, as I think it is including shows that are full but haven't run yet. This means when people try to create shows based on what's lacking (as given by that table) they don't always add what's actually needed.

Cutting down on the time-consuming nature of show creation would help a lot as well. If people don't have much time to spend on EV they prioritise caring for their horses, and as show creation is both time-consuming and non-essential this is the first thing to be sacrificed. Perhaps if we could make up to 5 different types of shows at once? Something like this:

<sup>I came here to suggest a similar thing to Demure. People don't really know what's needed unless people post/check the forums often. If you could have a "request shows" option, I think it would be used a lot. Anyone with the space to be able to create the amount of shows needed could create them. I think pricing should be left up to the creator though, otherwise you'd have National shows being listed at $20 and I know some people would disagree with it. 

Personally I only create filler shows when there's not enough for my own horses, I don't really make other shows unless I see a request for them.

I don't support this just because I don't really have many ways to make money besides creating shows plus breeding and showing.

But would not be opposed to making the limit of shows created per person more.

Maybe a page where people could submit show requests and deluxe members could complete the requests and the request would go away.
