*Vet/Farrier Another Player's Horse

#107371 Posted on 2017-06-02 21:52:24

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to find an AMAZING stallion to breed a mare to only come to find he is past due for a vet check/farrier appointment.

Suggestion: Ability to vet/farrier another player's horse.

It would be completely voluntary. And it would be *immensely* helpful for those wanting to use a a mare/stallion for breeding but the person has been offline, is taking a break or whatever.

Yes and honestly people who can't get on a lot but loves their horses could really use this!

If it was you paying the vet/farrier fees, not the owner, I would support this. If the money comes out of the horse owner's account that could be a problem, as they may not be able to afford it, or they might be saving up for something, or similar, and the expense at that time would be in some way inconvenient.

This would certainly be convenient if a suitable stud is available, but can't breed due to vet/farrier status, and you can't wait around until the owner gets to the horse. I expect if this were implemented you may also see players going around vetting or shoeing other players horses just for fun, or to help them out if they think they need it, e.g. new players, or those without much money. I see no downside to this. I think it would be good.

@Ulysses, I meant to add that. In my mind, it would be a given that the person wanting to vet/shoe a horse would need to pay for it. Not the owner themself.

Maybe if they horses are up for stud, the vet and farrier fees could be set on auto-pay to prevent anyone missing out on breeding with them, and the auto-pay could be turned off at any time.

argh yes please!! It's awful finding the only stud of X Breed in X discipline, only to find out he needs to see the vet and farrier D: I would be more than happy to vet/farrier any studs/broodmares that need it :3 (I think it'd be kinda cool to be able to do it for horses that aren't even up for breeding, that way if the owner can't afford it or doesn't have time to vet/farrier the horse(s) someone could just help them out and do it :3[once I finish with all my horsie care, I would just hunt for horses who need their checkup and feep trimmed xD])

I guess I don't relate to anyone about that, but it would be certainly fun! And you could also gain experience as well!

No support. This is an old suggestion. I am going to assume that the stud system was different back then. So is the account/horse locking/progress system. Currently, the studs/broods will be no longer available to the public if the owner isn't active. Therefore, all available studs/broods need to have an active owner. You can simply message the owner and request them to vet/farrier their stud/brood so you can use them. If they don't answer you fast enough due to time zone issues and you are on a time limit (such as the horse will retire the next day), you can easily move your own horse to another division and keep them frozen until the next day. If the money is the issue, you can easily transfer the cost to them and they can take care of it. Simple.

hmm, I still see horses who need vet/farrier in the list of available studs, and the owner hasn't been on in almost a week, so like the next day the stud will be unavailable :(

Edited for spelling, thanks Lizzy xD
