Story of Captain Major Top Hat


When Captain Major Top Hat (aka Captain) was born it was clear we had a majestic stallion that was going to make headlines as a star performer in dressage. His pedigree was impressive that included some champions in his grandsire's line which had very little inbreeding and perfect conformation. The pedigree in his dam's line included some solid performing horses but we had no idea how much of a champion Captain was going to be. 

Pine View Stables has had some incredible horses in the stable's history, however very few have had as much of an impact as Captain. When he was born, it took only a few hours before his gaits and movements became obvious he was going to succeed in the field of dressage. His carriage and leg action was perfect and had a kind and calm disposition. 

Once he was old enough training this beautifully natured horse was easy, and he was quick to learn. He loved to please. When he started showing, in dressage of cause it was clear he was going to be a champion. By the time the end of his career was coming to a close, he had made over $70,000 in prize money and placed in over 500 shows. 

We have yet to make a decision to breed Captain, as we want to ensure that he is paired with a mare that is as wonderful as he is. Therefore, in the meantime, he is enjoying life being a comfortable paddock pet.
