As he reached the far side of the stream he nodded to Cherrybranch and sighed "I fear they will have been hardest hit, windclan territory is much closer to kittypet villages and often has rogues wondering along their northern border, they will have been most easily infected" Looking around at the old wind clan territory he turned back to Cherrybranch, "how much further?"

Tigerheart

He paused as his brother said he smelt another cat and looked at him with confusion, he couldn't smell anything other than a faint thunderclan scent from the old borders "you can smell another cat?" he asked quietly. His brother had always had the better nose out of the two of them but Tigerheart thought since he would have dulled sensed with the whitecough.

"Most of WindClan territory to go, acually" Cherrybranch replied.

"Two... three cats. No aggression... atleast one she-cat... yes... and two toms" Fuzzystripe said. "Oh! And prey blood."

Tigerheart

With a rather amazed look at Fuzzystripe he asked "any scent of disease?" then he walked forward a few paces to look around the bush in front of him and the scents hit him "aahh i can smell them now too" he said quietly and walked on further around the bush, there was no noise so he wondered if they had moved on from this spot. Peaking around the bush he saw a swallow carcass and the scent of the 3 cats where very strong.

Stormclaw

With a decisive nod he said "right ok shall we pick up the pace?" he felt he belly rumble, the small mouse really hadn't been enough, it rumbled again but with noise this time and he felt heat rush to his face.

"Sure" Cherrybranch said. She darted across the field, veering around empty rabbit burrows and eventually to a dip. abandoned dens lay in ruins.

"No disease" Fuzzystripe said.

Tigerheart

Coming back to Fuzzy stripe he replied "well there is no one here now, do you want to follow them or shall wait here and see if they come back this way? They do smell like thunderclan but they could be rogues."

Stormclaw

He followed quickly after Cherrybranch and looked back to see if Leaftail was following too. He reached the edge of the dip and looked into windclan camp "ohh my..." he had never seen such a sad looking camp.

Fuzzystripe shrugged. "If we stay they might not come back, but if we follow them, they could attack."

Cherrybranch nodded. "Yes, well, there is nothing we can do for them now." She continued onward, slower this time. After some time they neared the base of the field. "Nearly there. Hope the birds will quiet your stomach"

Leaftail - Thundercln
He followed the other two cats - barely. He realized he was lagging and jumped forward. The sight of the Windclan camp stopped him in his tracks. So... empty. He closed his eyes a moment. "Why?" The tortured word was so soft no one could hear it. He imagined these cats, killed by the murderer who had killed Nightpaw. "Let's keep going," he bit out through clenched teeth. The scent of disease, the sight of things like this, put him on edge. It felt odd walking through this territory, even though the empty camp lay below him.

Stormfur - Riverclan
The she-cat met Moonpaw at the leader's den. She pulled out the last of the bedding from inside the den and turned to the young cat with sparkling eyes. "Hunting needs to be done... but it can wait. Let's go to the river and have a swim."

Cherrybranch looked at Leaftail. "Are you okay? You seem... down."

Stormclaw

He was silent for the rest of the journey the windclan scene burnt into his memory, at least a few of us are left he thought.

Moonpaw

She saw the sparkle on Stormfur's eye and could quite understand the look, maybe thats what fun is meant to look like she thought. She gave a nod to Stormfur and followed her to the stream, she hadn't been swimming in weeks, there had been no time for swimming or fun when the disease had struck.

Tigerheart

Thinking for a moment he said, "why dont we head to Thunderclan camp, they are likely to go back there at some point"

"Sure. Just go walk into another cats camp. Nothing wrong with that." Fuzzystripe said.

Cherrybranch walked beside Leaftail. She glanced sympatheticly at him. Suddently, the wind changed direction, blowing straight onto their faces. With it, it carried the scents of twolegs, hay, and animals.

Leaftail - Thunderclan
He looked at Cherrybranch and shot a smile at her. "I'm fine. The sickness has... changed my perspectives." The wind changed, and he parted his mouth slightly to take in the full impact of the scent. His face distorted into an exaggerated grimace. "Two-legs stink," he said in mock seriousness. He brushed shoulders briefly with Cherrybranch. Despite his joking remark, the scent of hay and animal was slightly comforting. Life was here. But two-legs definitely did smell.

Stormfur - Riverclan
She led the young cat quite happily. She bet the she-cat hadn't swam for moons - probably not since the disease struck all that time ago. They reached the rushing, gurgling water. "The cold might shock you after all this time," she warned. With blue eyes twinkling, she plunged into the frothy swirl of the water. She paddled steadily, enjoying the feel of water slipping around her, over her. She scanned the waters. The fish had hid. They could hunt later. Now, they had a swim to enjoy. And an apprentice's mood to lift.

Cherrybranch didn't flinch from Leaftail's touch. Instead she said "Its good to be among clanmates, no matter how many." Then she lowered her voice. "Its good to see you again." She glanced quickly at Leaftail, catching his gaze for a moment.

Moonpaw

Following after Stormfur she actually smiled at the sight of the water remembering how she used to race her brothers upstream but that memory made the smile fade to one of utter sadness as she realised her brothers would never swim this river again. But she took in her warning and followed Stormfur into the water, the cold did shock her but it was comforting, it felt clean and strong. She had to paddle hard to move upstream as her muscle mass had reduced so much after the disease but she enjoyed it although couldn't keep it up for long.

Tigerheart

He looked at his brother, "well we hardly look threatening do we? I think we should head there, not enter the camp but just wait near it, you said they had no scent of aggression" with that he helped his brother walk along heading right into the heart of thunderclan territory.

Stormclaw

As the farm scent hit him he grimaced at the two-leg smell "are these two-legs not aggressive? On my travels several chased me with banging machines if I came near their nests" he shivered at the memory, he always dodged away but he'd had a few close calls.
