*EVENTS: What would you like to see?

I don't mean to be picky but would it be better if we simply called it a "Holiday Event" instead of a "Christmas Event". Just to include those who celebrate Hanukkah and such.

Just some random thoughts to add:

Midsummer festival. Around 24th of june. With a bonfire, a trail of Will-o-whisps, leading to the mythical fern in bloom (the fern flower brings luck, wealth, or the ability to understand animal speech. It also had a downsides, but lets keep that aside. After finding/earning the fern flower, (1 per person, I think.) you can use it for money and/or an item that gives a small extra stat boost that can be used on a horse? That'd definitly be an interpretation of luck and animal speech.

Equiverse equestrian games, equiverse fair, equiverse derby... I dont mean it wrong, but its a lot of 'equiverse'. For more diversity, the race could alternatively be called something like the Grey Ridge Stakes, after Abbey's stable?

Maybe an event for Equiverse's birthday/anniversary? I'm not entirely sure when that is (so I don't know if it would interfere with/overlap too much with another event.)

A long, long while ago in another suggestion thread I'd suggested EV's "birthday" being a fun time to release any big changes, like new breeds. Obviously that's a suggestion for pretty far in the future, if at all. But I still think that expanding the list of breeds would be awesome, once the game has kind of leveled out from all the big changes! (And again, allowing for things like cost/ability of the game's market to support addition of a breed/etc.)
In this hypothetical, there could actually be *two* events, one where the new breed (or breeds?) could be voted on, and then a second event once the art and coding and everything is completed so that those new breeds are available. The release of the new breed/breeds could be an event themed after this new breed (or breeds) to celebrate them.

For the suggestions I've seen in this thread already, for things that don't necessarily have to be years down the line, lol, I really like a lot of them!

Maybe late for this year, but a St. Patrick's day celebration would be fun. Could collect shamrocks, and work toward finding "lucky clovers", or aim to find a "pot of gold" or that kind of thing. :)

For the summer, I love love love the idea of a luau themed event, or a beach party/seaside retreat type event! For the latter, could collect seashells or sand dollars.

A harvest festival would be really fun, but I can see it being similar in theme to some of what might come around for Halloween. (Pumpkins!) If they could be kept distinct, though, I would really like both!

I love the idea of some of the themes, like Carnival, 1001 Nights, Fairytale, Medieval, Ancient Egypt...

Breed/breed-group themed events could also be fun! Even in groups, having some kind of "spotlight" on each of the breeds in the group would be neat - could include facts about and history of the real life breeds, maybe. It could be a fun way to drum up interest in some of EV's breeds, too! Kind of like playing ambassador for a given breed.

Incorporating some element of showing (like event-specific, game-run mega-shows or the like) would be neat! I like the "collect stuff" kind of thing for the events, but some other types of events to help mix it up would be fun. Showing-related events would be particularly relevant for an Olympic/Derby/etc. themed event. (Though said event should be accessible to players and horses of any level, of course; not just the "best of the best" or anything.)

For items given as prizes (purchasable or won) from events, I definitely love plushies! Having variations between which years the plushie came from would be neat, but even without it, I love them. They tend to be my favorite thing to find or get from an event.
I also like special items, like were available for the Valentine's event (even though I was still locked up at the time.) Cool and useful event-only credit items (like the rose and thorn) or themed "clones" of regular credit items... those are certainly the most useful and exciting (though obviously they shouldn't be too plentiful.)
For say, a fairytale themed event, you could bring back an item similar to the wands on the previous version of the game, that would allow you to tweak one pair of genes for one horse however you'd like.
I saw some suggestions for a single-use item that would improve conformation (by a smallish amount; increasing the lowest confo stat by 5-10 points or so, with a limit of one use per horse). I think that would be *enormously* popular, as conformation is the most difficult thing to alter/improve, but I do think such a thing would have to be very limited just to keep the challenge alive.

That was... long and maybe just repeated some stuff other people had already said.

But yes, events are often some of my favorite times on EV!

Names could certainly be improved upon but I feel this is a minor detail. Abbey will probably come up with something suitable if she decides to incorporate those ideas into events. For the purposes of discussing what sort of themes can be used for events it probably doesn't really matter what it's called so long as everyone knows what you're talking about.
