Equiverse is slow

#71903 Posted on 2016-10-13 13:07:33

Hey,

The last 2 or 3 days i notice that Equiverse is very slow. If i want to train, then the loading of the page takes a long time. Same for taking care of the horses. I have a lot of horses to train, so it takes a really long time to train them, because of the long loading time of equiverse. Does someone else have this problem? My internet is fast, so that's not te problem. Other sites are fast, only equiverse is really slow.

It's not EV as a whole. I'm not lagging at all.
I know nothing about technology, so I can't help you there :(

Are there any pages in particular that you would say are slow? EV doesn't seem to be slow to me overall but - as you mentioned, you have many horses - there may be certain pages which include your horses list which slows the page down. There may be something I can do to help speed them up.

I've had equiverse be the only slow page as well. It seem that feeding and training that are the slowest for me.

If i want to log in it is very slow. It takes around 4 to 5 minutes before i am in the game. Also the training page and the horse list is really slow (so feeding etc.). But also the games and the riding schools. So almost everything is slow.

Tossing in my observations:

Logging in is about the only slow thing for me.
Repairing tack used to be, but recently I noticed it went from a multi-minute load to almost instantaneous, so thanks for whatever you did to fix that!

Logging in is often very slow for me, especially the first time I log on in a given day. I assume that's because it's generating any necessary notifications for the account, though even on days where I have very few notifications it can take a couple minutes for it to log me in. (Of course, if it's having to do the same amount of work to discover whether I have notifications or not, it makes sense that it takes the same amount of time regardless.)

Sometimes there's a brief lag when I vet or shoe my horses, but considering the ridiculous number of them I have, I wouldn't expect otherwise, lol.
I haven't personally noticed any consistent lag when it comes to showing/training/treating/etc.

(In no way am I saying that this means no one else is experiencing slowness or anything.)

It's very laggy for me for most pages, it's also the only site I visit that is slow.

I have 3 accounts. With on this account 100+ horses and on the other 2 25 horses. It makes no differences if i am going to my other accounts or this account. All 3 they are slow. At one account my horses died because it was to slow to feed them. The horse list wouldn't show, so i couldn't lock them also, because the lock button is at the bottom of the page.

The only slowness I've noticed is on individual horses' pages. They usually take a few seconds longer to load than any other part of the site.

I sometimes have some delay when trying to initially log-on. I train around 100 horses on this account and my spare account and sometimes experience lags when entering riding schools, treating or vetting. I don't usually have any slowness with my computer or internet on other sites. I really only notice it when I am trying to get something done quickly!

The past couple of days, I have had insane difficulty (only at certain times, it seems) doing anything on EV! Today it seems to have been moving along just fine.

Usually if / when a site gets really laggy like that for me, I clear my browser cache (sometimes the browser doesn't know which version of any given page it's supposed to load) and it pretty much always helps even if just a little bit. If I spend 3 days on my account, my sister spends 3 days on her account and the roommate looks after all her horses too....well, it just gets slower and slower until the cookies and cache are gone :)

Over the past ~week I've noticed that it has periodically been extremely slow, regardless of what page(s) I might be on. It seems to be on and off - like right now everything is running very slowly, whereas yesterday there wasn't much of an issue. In general though, it's been slow more often than not, sometimes to the point of timing out.

(and for anyone with avatars [like mine] or other images on Photobucket, it's down entirely, so that's why you're not seeing anything you have hosted there)
