It's ok. I'm thinking about breeding Max (#530054) with Blue Eyed Beauty (#527771). What would I get then????? I'm hoping for bright colors as I breed my Quarter Horses.

probably a red dun splash, or maybe a chestnut splash
something with splash, I assume
there's a slim chance it will be gray, but probably not

Messaged you with specifics on the coat colors, Star Shine.

Chance of gray is 50% I believe.

@raptor
Gg IS gray, just means she is heterozygous for the gene. G dominant and...masks?... The rest of her genetics when Gg gets expressed as she ages. So, she will get gray as she ages.

I know, but it says that Gg is gray carrying non-gray. So, in theory, she shouldn't turn gray... correct? Or will she?
Regardless, there's still a 50% chance on her side the foal will be gray, and a 0% chance on the sire's side, so it probably won't be a gray foal.

Gg - will turn gray but has a chance to contribute a non-gray gene to the foal
GG - gray with 100% chance of a gray foal
gg - Non-gray

@ raptor there is a 50% overall that the foal will be grey.

using punnett squares as shown by vos in the original post :

Gg x gg

_| G_|_g
g| Gg |gg
g| Gg |gg

= 50% chance that the foal will be Gg and 50% chance that the foal will be gg

okay. wow.
I have no idea how to understand punnett squares on my own, but I see now.
Grays are like a contagious disease.

I have a pregnant mare named Red Lady in my Foaling barn and I was wondering what kind of colors of foal she may have.

@Starshine : Google "Equine Coat Color Calculator" The first result is GREAT for you to plug in the sire and the dam's genotypes to see the possibilities.
