I made a bunch of sketches a couple days ago and the one that this is based on sort of caught my attention and then I couldn't stop, so here we are . . .

My long-term sort of goal is to be able to create something closer to game art quality (hah) - I'm not there yet but I'm happy with how this is looking so far.

Ah it's beautiful! This is one question that's been confusing me for a while, but what brush do you use for shading or highlights? That probably sounds ridiculous but I've always been curious about how more established arters make their work   :) Anyway, it's gorgeous o:

I use the mixer brush tool, cause it gives you a feeling of working with paint (which I like a lot cause I did a lot more painting when I was younger and in art classes where painting was easy to do cause no mess). The brush I usually use for smaller work is the default hard round and soft round, but for this I used the watercolor small round tip, which is a default photoshop brush. I actually chose it cause I asked Bela what she used and she said that one, and I like the texture the shape gives so it's worth sticking with. cx
