He let out a small laugh "you sound like a kitty pet!" he exclaimed as Cherrybranch mentioned hunting the mice but he saw the sense in it, the two-legs would get very angry if all 3 of them took a plump bird.

Tigerheart

Ignoring his brothers grumpy tone he headed for Thunderclan camp feeling much more positive, they'd found some prey and the scent of other cats, life was looking up.

"Well, the twolegs might think I'm their kittypet, but hey, that's how I survived. I know the warrior code says that a true warrior rejects the life of a kittypet, but I really had no choice. Accually, they kept me from getting the disease. I don't know how, but they took me to this twoleg who poked thorns into my skin. Some other kittypet called them vaccinations, whatever that means." Cherrybranch said, as the horseplace came into view. One of the birds called out.

Listening to Cherrybranch carefully he nodded "actually i have heard of those vaccination things. I travelled to the monster path and into the land beyond, eventually i reached an odd place where thousands of two-legs lived really close together and the stone nests went on forever. I met many cats who talked about strange white rooms and odd smelling two-legs then getting poked with thorn things."

Cherrybranch nodded again. "Ready to catch some birds? Now these birds can be aggressive, and they are quite large, so you have to pounce slightly different." Cherrybranch demostrated, crouching and pouncing, but instead of jumping up and landing on the imaginary prey, she jumped forward, grabbed the imaginary prey with her paws, and "killed" it.

Stormclaw

He grinned at Cherrybranch then copied her technique "ok! Let's go!"

"Great!" Cherrybranch said, bounding down to the fence.

Leaftail - Thunderclan
He listened to Cherrybranch and Stormclaw. He was surprised to hear she had lived like a half-kitty-pet. But it didn't make him dislike her. After all, those v... things had saved her. "I've never heard of them," he had thrown in when Stormclaw knew them. Cherrybranch showed them the new technique, and he copied it. Then, he bounded down after her.

Stormfur - Riverclan
She smiled at Moonpaw. "Feel as good as you remember?" she asked, paddling along easily. She loved the river. It's feel, it's smell... Everything. She scanned the waters, and a flash caught her attention. She suddenly dove, and surfaced with a flopping fish between her jaws. It was small, just enough for one cat for a snack. She clambered from the river onto the bank and put her paw on the dying fish. "Moonpaw, come eat a quick snack."

Cherrybranch ran through the pasture, dodging horses. She skidded to a stop in front of a flock of large birds. She whispered, "We can only take one bird. It will feed all of us." She crouched down and slipped around to the back of the flock. She signaled with her tail towards a bird near the edge of the flock.

Stormclaw

He bounded across the pasture then spotted the birds "they're huge!" he exclaimed in a whisper, "one will definitely feed all of us" he followed Cherrybranch but was unsure that she wanted them to get in the way of her hunt.

Moonpaw

The little cat was just concentrating on swimming with the current, she felt her weak muscles come to life and begin to ache but she enjoyed the sensation it felt so much better than sitting in a sickly den for hours on end. As Stormfur appeared with a fish she gasped, she hadn't yet been taught how to fish properly in her warrior training because the disease had hit right in the middle of her hunting training. She swan over to the bank and stared down at the flopping fish "you made that look so easy!" she said with surprise.

Cherrybranch nodded to the barn's open door. 'block it' she mouthed.

Leaftail - Thunderclan
He nodded and silently slunk to the barn door. He slowly moved out in front of it and crouched, ready to act. He peered into the barn's dim interior, and one of those big birds tilted its head and gazed at him with one eye. It blinked and made a sound. He stared at it a moment longer, then slowly turned his head back to watch Cherrybranch. He needed to be ready in case the big birds came squacking and flapping his way. He could tell they were like quail, and couldn't fly. He had been introduced to quail in the faraway forest.

Stormfur - Riverclan
She smiled at Moonpaw. It hit her again how much she had missed on her training. "It's hard at first, but with practice it becomes much easier." She unsheathed her claws and pierced the tiny fish's scales. It gave one more feeble flap of its tail then lay still. She pushed it to Moonpaw. "A healthy diet of fish and warm-blooded prey does wonders. The fish give your fur that sleekness Riverclan is known for."

Stormclaw

Crouched beside Leaftail he watched Cherrybranch enter the two-legs barn with amazement, he whispered to Leaftail "she's so confident in a two-legs place! I would never have had the courage to come here during the disease". But he appreciated that she must've had a good life feeding on these birds and fat mice as well, he almost felt a bit jealous.

Moonpaw

Looking down at the fish she realised she hasn't eaten in several days and her stomach gave a loud rumble, she looked down very embarrassed "are you sure? You caught it..." but she really did want it. Having tried and failed to fish herself she'd relied on scare forest prey, much of it had been diseased too.

Cherrybranch tensed. She sprung forward grabbing the bird with her claws and biting its neck. The other birds went crazy, screaming and running around. A twoleg yowled. the door at the other end of the barn opened and a female twolegs stormed inside. She came over to Cherrybranch. Cherrybranch put on an inoccent face. The twoleg sighed and reached for the dead bird. Quickly, Cherrybranch stuffed the entire bird in her mouth, filling her checks. A few pieces of meat fell out of her mouth. The twoleg shook her head and left. Cherrybranch turned to Stormclaw and Leaftail. She opened her mouth and the chewed up bird fell out.

When the two-legs appeared the Tom gasped and hid around the side of the doorway, he knew if the human spotted them Cherrybranch might loose her access to this place and they desperately needed a good supply of prey. As she reappeared with a mouthful of feathers he chuckled "haha your very brave to stand up to the two-legs like that"
