Brands

That is a good idea, Wicked!

In my original post, I brought up the idea of putting a "Brand Registry" in each breed specific club, so it isn't one huge list. That way, quarter horse breeders can go to the quarter horse club and see brand of just quarter horse breeders, and same goes for thoroughbreds, arabians, and so on.

I am also just a basic member, so I believe unless you want more then one brand or to change a brand, it is free. I do like the idea of gaining access after reaching a certain level. Maybe level 10? That way, when you reach level 10, you are pretty commited to the game already.

I too like the idea of the branding. I do not think that a brand should be able to be changed because that would get really confusing really fast. If a player wants a different brand or more then one they should have to pay for it. The second and third would be payable by coins you can earn in the game any others would have to be bought with credits. I think there should also be a way to retire a brand. Meaning say i breed arabians and grow a strong and long line but then i decide I don't want to breed them any more. So i allow my lines to sell or die off. People on the game know my brand for the horses and lines i breed. I would not want some one else getting my old brand and breeding the same breed even though i am not breeding the Arabians any more. By retiring a brand it would protect the players lines and no one else could copy the brand.

I don't think "retiring" would be a good idea, as if someone ever decided to get into that again, they may want to use that brand again. However, every brand should have to be registered in the game, much like usernames, if that brand is already registered, you can't use it for yourself.

For example, if I were to register my brand, and someone else had already registered it, a pop up thing or something would show saying "invalid brand. Already in use" or something like that. So there wouldn't be multiple breeders with the same brand.

I agree with Whisper. The point of brands are to direct the horses to an individual player, have multiple of the same brands can be confusing when searching up such things.
