I bred a few of my mares and they still have two days left until they are supposed to give birth but the foals are already born and I own them. I know this was a bug stated before, but it is still going on with my horses.

Also is it normal for it to be so slow when pressing the button to manually turn over cause it takes at least two minutes for the page to actually load for me. I'm just wondering.

Can anyone clarify for me what happens if the cron time ticks over while you're logged in? Do you go to click on something and it asks you to run cron instead of bringing up the page? Or something else? I'm just wondering what would happen if you're in the process of typing up a forum post when it happens, that's all. I haven't signed up for the trial run of this, but I'm considering it and just want to clarify a few things first.

Essentially that's what happens UB. If you're in the middle of something and cron runs, the next pageload will just redirect you to the Progress page.

Queen Bird, yes it is normal. Mine takes a while to load up too. Usually less than yours but I suspect it will be different for everyone depending on your computer and internet provider specs as well (just a guess). However, it is not an instant load.

UlyssesBlue, cron does not run at all when you set up for this trial. You have to manually do it. But when the regular cron does occur, about 30 minutes or so later you will be redirected (not automatically but when you load a page) to the "progress me" button. You do not have to click it if you wish. But you wont be able to feed, care, show your horses or collect bank interest etc.

If it is around that time when you are posting, I suggest copying everything before posting. So if you are redirected you can go back and just paste.

My concern is that I am often online around cron time, and it's common for me to be browsing the forums while I wait for things to tick over. If I wrote up a big long forum post only to have it wiped because 4am had come without realising (the EV time on pages doesn't update unless you load a new one) and I instead got redirected to the manual cron page when I tried to post it this would be a serious issue. I won't always remember to copy and paste everything before I click 'post'. I expect the same issue would apply to messages, journals, player pages, and possibly some other things.

Is it possible to code things so that in this scenario the post would get posted, then you get redirected? Or alternatively, have it automatically saved as a draft somewhere which then gets loaded once you've run manual cron?

I have had most of these bugs that were covered already, only one thing to add. One night i went to go and train my horses (about 9pm my time) and all other times the system does not reboot until 3am anyway it say i needed to progress, so somewhere along the line it thought it was 3am (yes i had already logged into my account for that day) one thing I would love to see incorporated into the new system is this, I would love to see the option to progress a day (only once) but still have the option to play the game like it was the day before. Lets say i fell asleep early on march 7th and did not get around to training my horses then on march 8th i log on to my account and I have to age them a day and i got no training in the day before. the option i purpose is that if my horses were not trained the day before that we could play the game as if it were march 7th and then advance the day so that I could also train them on the 8th. This option is to only advance one day and not advance many days in the game on a single day otherwise you would run into the problem that you would need to buy days or something like that

As a test I tried submitting a forum post after cron time had passed (circa 4:50am) and I was instead redirected to the progress page. After clicking the button and waiting for it to load it eventually told me everything was fine and I could continue, so I then checked the forum to see if my post was posted and it wasn't. Furthermore, pressing back in my browser didn't bring anything up, so the post was lost completely. I haven't tested this for messages or journal posts but I expect it would be the same. It seems like posts are indeed lost if they are submitted after cron time has passed.

This seems like an issue that should be corrected before this feature gets rolled out site-wide. Would it be possible for posts to be saved somewhere if they can't be submitted due to the progress page coming up? Alternatively, if you're on a page and click something (be it submitting a post or anything else) perhaps it could perform that task then a second or two after loading the new page it could redirect you to the progress page.

Unrelated suggestion: on the progress page it says something like "It's a brand new day, [etc]." This seems like a good spot for some art. Perhaps a sunrise over a horse farm or paddock or similar. Not an essential feature, of course, but it seems nice.

*edit* tested this today with my journal and it actually worked fine. I made some changes prior to 4am, then waited til about 4:35am to press save. It brought up the progress page, I pressed the button, then went back to my journal and the changes were there. Abbey, have you made any changes to make this work (in which case I should test forum posts again) or is it just that journals were never affected in the first place?

Hope, I kinda of like that idea. Being able to care for your horses still before pressing the progress button. I remember being able to do that, actually on the first couple days of this beta testing. However, I think when we had problems finding the progress button it ended up changing when Abbey fixed it. I don't agree on being able to train and show your horses though. Only for the simple fact that you would be taking up slots and shows that are meant for the current day, which wouldn't be fair to others in my opinion.

Hope, that's not something I want to offer. Progress will be available at the same time for every person, it will be a standard just like cron is currently. I will not be making exceptions. If you can't get on for a day, then just don't progress for that day and horses won't lose out on care.

The progress button is only supposed to show up once a day (approx 4:30am server time at the moment, it will be changing to 4am when we fully implement). If it showed up more than that, then that is a bug and please report it as such.

Today's test: sending messages around cron time.

Prior to 4am I wrote up a message to send to my main account, then around 5am EV time I sent it off. The progress page came up, so I clicked through that as usual, then logged out and checked my main account to see if the message had turned up, and it had.

So it would appear that when sending messages and editing journals around cron time, such that when you press submit you get redirected to the progress page, they work as normal and don't get lost. However when I did the same for a forum post it did get lost. I will test this again just in case.

*edit* Just ran the forum post test again, and it was lost again, so this bug seems to only apply to forum posts, and is definitely still present.

*edit2* Accidentally ran the forum post test again (wrote up something big, then forgot it was about cron time before pressing submit). Fortunately it worked this time, and the post wasn't lost, and was submitted as normal, so this now seems to be fixed. :D

the progress page doesn't come up automatically. I have to manually type up the url for the progress page. bit annoying.

Hit the progress button, left the page alone. Horses  didn't age and it says they've already been cared for, treated, trained, and shown when they haven't. :(
