Show Me Your Fur Babies! (Scale bbs allowed too) |
#85675 Posted on 2017-01-05 23:00:00
I realize it's been a bit since I've gotten the opportunity to show my babies off to someone who hasn't been forced to memorize every hair on their bodies due to how much I shove pictures of them in their face, so I thought, 'why doesn't everyone show off their beautiful babies!'
I want to see all your children: Fur, scales, fins, feathers, two legs, four legs, no legs - I want to see them!
Feel free to even write a tidbit or alotbit (lol) about them if you please ♥
I'll go in order of who I've had the longest to who I've had the least.
Meet Benjamin Renee Peterson also know as Benjamin or Benjicat. (and me)
The full name started out as an inside joke but somehow stuck with him. He was abandoned along with his sister at my old barn as a kitten. The barn decided to keep his sister as a barn cat (she didn't last long) and to sell this guy off. I was so eager to snag him and didn't want anyone else to get him. Lucky (or not) enough, we had a mice problem in our house and my mom thought he, a kitten, could stop them, so we brought the little sucker home. He sucked at his job and turned out to be a complete a-hole, but I loved him anyway. He's one of the coolest dang cats with such an intelligent personality. He enjoys running in between your legs while you walk up the stairs and swatting your contact solution into the sink. He's roughly 6 years old, which is how long we've had him as well.
Moving on to Leah, or, Leah Diarrhea (gross, I know). My mom offered to take her when her co-worker came to her and was worried about her safety as her son was abusing her. According to some paper we lost a long time ago, she was brought here from Mexico with a GS named Kane. We never knew who Kane was, but Leah was (and still somewhat is) very, very shy and pleading around new people and highly afraid of large objects being moved near or over her, along with sudden bangs. She got her disgusting nickname when she had a bad habit of peeing and pooping on the floor even though we'd let her out moments before (thankfully she's over that now). She's definitely come out her shell since we've gotten Athena (read below), but has also picked up the bad habit of barking at people - at first - though she'll never do anything, and at a knock at the door or ring of the bell. Ugh.
Next we have Oliver. Oliver was an impulse purchase and I am not ashamed. He is one of the sweetest dang goats you'll ever find. I bought him from a breeder (hence why he's de-horned) as a pet when he was a bottle baby. He'd follow me around where I went and cry when I wasn't in sight. I devoted every 2 hours to the guy when he needed to be fed, but it was all worth it when he'd hop up on the bed with me and snuggle up right under my arms. Once he grew up enough to run with the big dogs (he's almost 3 now), we let him loose with the gang of goats at Scout's (read below) old boarding property. He still resides with him while Scout has moved just across the street (literally, I walked him across the road to get him there, but that's another story) and is a pretty fly guy. Please excuse his brown fur but I swear he's white.
And now (if it hasn't been made apparent before), this is my wonderfully adorable, wonderfully behaved, Scout who I love oh-so much. The photos are in order of oldest to most recent. The first photo is of Scout at 6-ish months old, and the same photo that I first saw on the website of the rescue I got him from that made me fall in love with him (grab me a tissue). Scout was born at the rescue and had pretty great training (halter-broke, standing for vet, picking up feet, trailer loading, walking through an obstacle course without a spook) before I got him. The second photo is...adoption day! He had just turned one in that photo and I was a very odd looking freshman, so excuse my face. Scout was, and has been, the perfect gentleman since the day I first led him. He's never given me a reason to be mad at him and I seriously mean that. There was only one day where he kicked me in the back of my thigh and left me a hoof print bruise because I was agitated and it was rubbing off on him, and just recently where he was anxious to get back to his pen for feeding time and wasn't cooperating. He's such a sweet heart and so smart. It took me one day of lunging him before we could successfully move outdoors without a round pen and lunge without an issue. He's extremely willing, extremely smart, and extremely adorable (if you couldn't see). He knows he's my baby and he knows I love him with all my heart. He's my first horse, and the first horse I'll be breaking and training on my own, which gives us a special bond. We've got a long way to go, but so far I can say he's my heart horse. (Also pls excuse my face in the last photo, I'm 5'11" and he's like 14-ish hands so I have to get real low to take his lead rope off).
PS. If anyone would like to see videos of how heckin cute he is, let me know! :)
And now, the fattest of my animals, I present to you: Athena. This beautiful pupper was adopted from the organization as Scout. We've had her for about a year, and she's roughly four or five years old. She is a purebred long-haired GS and weighs 80 flip heckin pounds. The first photo is of her on adoption day. She was far underweight and her skin condition was as bad as ever. Her previous owners thought it to be Lupis and gave her up for that reason and boy do I pity them (it's not Lupis btw, it's just dry skin). This dog is big, beautiful, and noble. I love showing this girl off. She was originally meant to be an ESA, but became more of a family pet as the days went by. She's still primarily my dog, and you'd never have to guess it. She has to be wherever I am, even if I walk three feet to the bathroom, she hops off the bed and follows me wherever I go and even paws at my bedroom door when it's closed and she wants in. Unfortunately, we were outside one day when a neighbor's dog ran up and began attacking her in our front yard where Athena then became to destroy the heck out of that dog (I mean, she's a GS and the dog was a small cockerspaniel lookin thing), so the owner thought it be a good idea to run up and begin kicking and punching Athena until she could pull her dog away. I was not happy, trust me, and we exchanged some pretty nasty words. Now, the poor girl, is extremely over protective and defensive and WILL run up to anyone (dog or human) and bite them. She's a nightmare to be introduced to and will definitely scare off anyone who enters our home, unless she gets to know you. It took a good month of my boyfriend coming over before he could enter the house without her eating him. She's bitten more than one person, and is now required to be leashed before even thinking about walking out the door. As much as I hate them, I'm considering getting a muzzle so she can go back to running in the fields (we don't have leash laws in my area) without my heart jumping out of my chest when I see another living being in sight.
So, these are my kids; Let's see yours!

I love all your pets! They're all really cute! Also now I really want a goat.
This is my dog Boomer. He's a pitbull mix (likely has some lab in him too) and is the most laid back dog possible. My brother rescued him while he was in college, and back then Boomer was emaciated from living on the street, but it wasn't long before he gained his weight back (and more!) while he was living in a Fraternity house. He's now about 20-30 lbs overweight, but we're working on it.
This is my lease, Tyson. He's a purebred Arabian and about 17 years old. He's a sweetheart and understands my anxiety but luckily just goes "ehhh" and keeps going over the jumps. He's with his favorite pony friend Rocky in the last picture.

This is Pickles also know as picstar I have yet to get an updated picture of him, he looks bigger now. He is a such a cuddle bug when he's not running around and getting into things or tripping people.
This is Leo he's a pit/lad mix at least that's what we where told, yes he's still a puppy we've had him for about 5 months now I think. he's very playful to the point I wish he wasn't... that's all he wants to do it play non stop thank god for Pickles they love to play together.
This is Ryder we've had him for two months now, he use to belong to a friend who could no longer keep him and so I took him in due to his issues that he has(we where looking for another dog anyways). He doesn't like strangers and is completely afraid of men, he can't be left alone without him going berserk and tearing everything up. Even with all that he is a big baby, and just loves to follow me around.

Cooper
This is my 8 yrs old Miniature Schnauzer, Cooper (hence my name) We have had him ever since he was a little puppy. He love to play and BARK, but who can blame him cuz I guess Schnauzers are watchdogs in Germany. And if you wondering, yes, that is my ugly foot in the background but just please ignore that.... XD
Nash
Nash2
Nash3
This is my first full sized horse Nash. He is a Old Foundation QH palomino gelding. He is 13 yrs old and is the best horse ever. Although he is chunky, he is fast and I've started contesting on him and have done fair and more local shows. The second picture of him is his sale ad picture of he looks a lot better, especially his hooves, but I just still like the picture. The third picture is from fair, halter class that we are horrible at but I did it for the points. I didn't pose for that picture, I didn't even know my mom took it until I was scrolling through her photos. I did do a bit of editing for fun but I couldn't find the original. Although his coat does really pop like that in the summer and he is pale in the winter. I mostly edited the background. I will have have Nash now for a year in just about two weeks!!! XD
Jasper
Jasper2
Jasper3
Lastly, this is Jasper, He is a Rocky Mountain Horse (although he is not gaited, which I like so he is like any other non-gaited horse) gelding. He is 7 yrs old and is still learning but he is such a fast learner and is picking things up super fast. He is spunky and is like a puppy in horse from. He is so fun to work with and way down the road I want to try my hand at liberty with him. The first and last pictures are at a friends house and the second one is his sale ad picture and what I said about Nash's sale ad picture.
I used to have four Miniature Horses too, but we sold them not to long ago. :*( FYI, Koda, Crossroad, and wey, your animals are so adorable!!

Ahhh my cat won't sit still for a picture- he doesn't like paparazzi.
For now I can tell you that he's a male 1 1/2 yr old brown tabby with a white chest, white mittens, white chin, white underbelly, and I believe that is it. I've had him since he was 14 weeks old. Benjamin is average sized, not fat (yet). I call him Ben, Benji, Benjicat, Benjibro, Benny, B-man, etc. Oh- he also likes to eat Cheetos! (Don't worry, he only ate one; I keep them far away from him now.) I also made the mistake of teaching my cat to open doors because I thought it would be cool. Now, I always have to keep the front door locked or else he'll get out.
(First and only pet. ^^)

Meet Zoe. This is our kitty. She lives outside and is our little hunter. We've had her for a long time now (more than 7 years). Zoe isn't very cooperative to take pictures of, but I'm pretty happy with the ones I have taken. She got cat treats for Christmas (a rare thing for us to buy), and she loves milk, meat, cheese, and attention.
This is Lucy. She is my little puppy. She's about 2 years now. We adopted her (like Zoe) from the pound about a year and 4 months ago. She's so cute and adorable and I can go on and on about her. Right now she has icing on her nose that's been there about two hours now haha. The last two photos of her were from my fall photoshoot. She's cooperative lol.
We got Lucy because I convinced my mom to let me see the new humane society facility. So we go in and we're looking at all the dogs and as soon as my mom sees Lucy she goes down and says, "Oh you're so cute I want to take you home!" We got to play with her but sadly didn't get her. A few weeks (maybe a month later) we come home and there she is. ♥

Not including all my bb childrens, but just the ones I have good photos of ♥
Miss Fame (Baby)
Miss Fame and Trixie Matte
Miss Fame (Adult)
For the past couple years I've been donating duck eggs to my town's rec department to hatch with the children who go there. So what does that mean? Baby ducks ♥ These two were very close to me, however Trixie had to be rehomed because Trixie happened to be a boy and her dad wasn't too happy with that. However, I still own Miss Fame and she's my little sweetie, living alongside her mother, Ellie. She's with me til the day she dies, because she's just stolen my heart ♥ And anyone can steal her heart if they hold a piece of blueberry bagel or banana out to her.
Pearl
Pearl is the neediest, cuddliest chicken in the world. She's less than a year old, and I raised her from a two day old chick. I babied her the most out of every chicken I own and it shows. She gets every treat that is safe for her to eat. Recently I taught her to jump on things for french fries or Peas. She's one of only four of my chickens that can be let out and she'll follow you around the yard, all the while telling you "stories" of her life and how hard it is to sleep and eat. She even comes inside my house in the summer to look in the refrigerator to make sure she's not missing out on anything (;
Jay
Jay
Jay is my extremely photogentic Chiclid(?). I've owned him at least 5 years now, and in this time I learned he has depression. Yes, my fish has depression. He cannot be kept in a tank alone even though he is extremely aggressive. I've pooled ALOT of money into buying him tank mates which he just kills in days. Finally I've managed to purchase 2 feeder goldfish, which he has settled in with. I can't get photos of them because the camera is HIS. The end, only he can be looked at and photographed. He digs holes all throughout the tank, spits rocks at the walls when he wants to be talked to. He demands attention. .-.
Scout aka Weekie
I hate her, yet love her. She's anti-social, aggressive and my biggest regret. But look at that face, le pig in a pig suit. She matches my family's rotti as well so that's pretty cool. ;P
Zoe aka Meatloaf
Silver Fox Rabbit. I've had her for 7 years? She's the first to grunt at everyone walking into the room, demands her share of your fruit then proceeds to throw it out of her cage but she needs it anyway. She's playfully mean, will bite if you don;t know what you're doing. But also she can;t reach her back so scratching it gains her friendship xD
Gilbert
My family's German rottie that we got from the pound. He's cuddly, lacks a brain and is pretty funny in his own way. He's 6 now, but still full of puppy energy. He runs fast, loves running and is afraid of my cats. His farts can and will clear a room. He's allergic to rice and most dog founds are rice based c: So fun. I taught him to sneeze on command and he never disappoints.
Angel, Le Poof Poof
I promise she loves me
Angel is my cat, not my family's cat like the rest. She follows me around, demands I carry her, shoots nasty looks at my family. We share food all night long, cuddle and I wouldn't give her up for the world. My poofy poof poof.
Jayy
So cute
I don't own him. I wish, But I don't. Though I named him! I'm the only person who normally rides him. He has a brand that no one has been able to trace. {If anyone wants to try I can see if I still have the photo.} He loves me, follows me around, only goes on the bit and canters the correct lead for me ;3 {Minor joke, just when one of the "Good" riders took him to a show she trusted him too much and rode the wrong lead through the entire flat course xD} We've been told he's an EX dressage horse, He's in his mid-twenties, so he's my grumpy old man. I always cuddle him, sneak him candy and love him. I mean, look at that old man faceeeeee.
Mason
Wall = Yummy
Again, Don't own him. I may be leasing him this summer, but that depends on how we work together. Riding him is like riding a potato, you can kick it all you want, you're still gonna get no where. He's from a barrel racing barn, where during group warmups when everyone finished their 6 laps, he just finished his first. He's so slow. So slowwwwwww. But he's cute, and I wanna see if I can find his gas pedal. He's got lovely potential I feel and I wanna try to get him up their.

This is our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bella. She's 5 years old and the most beautiful little girl ♥ We got her on boxing day (she wasn't a christmas present though) in 2011 from a pure breeder that was 4 hours away, but she was worth the drive.
Most of the time she's laid back, but gets terrible separation anxiety when she's away from us and cries very loudly. Her favourite toy is an empty plastic bottle (even when she has a basket full of other toys) and she'd do just about anything for cheese.
Our other pet is A grey Cockatiel named Bobby. We bought him off my nan about a year ago and he was not very friendly towards people. I've been hand training him since then and he's gotten much better. We don't know how old he is, but it would be around 4 or 5 years old.

@Paige - Bella is adorable!
@Lucifer - You have so many adorable pets lol
Just a note that I forgot - Lucy is an American Staffordshire Terrier. We believe she was abused by a man because she doesn't like men. She will bark and growl at them (she doesn't ever bite anyone) but if they go to pet her she runs away.

well i currently only have 1 pupper, he's around 9 months old, nearly 10 and his name is cooper.
this was cooper when we first went to see him, he must have been around 6 weeks old at the time.
(i have to many pictures i know ima just link the rest of them here xD -- Click here for puppers )
and now we're looking at getting another puppy from the same people, we are gonna go have a look at them next week on Saturday but we believe we have already found the one we want. vv
so yeah sorry about the spam of pictures xD but cooper is an all round lovely dog, yeah he can be to over energetic at times, however he really has a great personality and is lovely to be around. when you take him to the park it;t great to watch him run (apart from where he runs to far and you have to chase after him before you lose where he's gone.) that and he can be extremely derpy at times and i have some of the best videos of that xDD

Oh god I have so many animals though.
I have approx. 26 animals in total. No we're not hoarders, I'm just counting the fish as well.
We have 5 horses, 6 dogs, 3 cats, 3 chickens, and approx. 9 fish.
I'll add the rest of the pictures later.
Cats
Kiara a 9+ month old Short haired mix kitten that we adopted after we had to have my cat Cleo put to sleep. She had a tumor that could not be treated. The picture is from the day I got her in August.
Sterling aka Keke a Male Blue Bi Color Ragdoll Cat. I have a love/hate relationship with him as he annoys the crap out of me (he's a loud talker). He prefers my mom over anyone. But, he's gorgeous and I love even when I say I don't. In 2016 we came really close to losing him, and he had to have surgery. We never found out what was wrong as they couldn't find anything wrong with him during the surgery. It was a surgery to look for blockages, or fluid in his body. As he couldn't eat, and was very sick. After the surgery he ended up making a full recovery, without any explanation as to why. But, those few weeks of not knowing what was wrong, made me realize I really loved him.
Gingersnap aka Ginger a Female Tortie Shell with White Short Hair Mix. She's mom's cat and hates my dad and I. Ginger's not mean to us but she doesn't want us to pet her. The only time she comes up to us is when she's hungry lol. Lola our barn cat and Ginger's mother; got pregnant and we had no idea until very late into the pregnancy. One night I found her with a tiny kitten and no others in sight. I did any extensive search and found that Ginger was the only kitten born. Lola didn't have anymore. We took them both into the house, and set up a room for them, so none of the other animals could bother them.
We helped Lola raise Ginger, and ended up keeping her as she was just too nice. But, she was very sick, and I may explain all that later. But, Ginersnap is about six now, so she pretty good. She'll still have occasional problems that we have to take her to the vet for, but none are ever as serious as what happened when she was a kitten.
Dogs
Copper a Male Red Irish Setter (Show Type).
Cody Bear a Male Beagle.
Pumpkin a Female Black/Tan Long Haired Rottweiler x Australian Shepherd
Little Bear a Male Grey and White Piebald Poodle x Terrier
Scooby Doo a Male Red Long Haired Chihuahua
Lacy a Female Cream Toy Poodle
Chickens
Dumb and Dumber both female hens.
Ninja a gorgeous sweet Mille Fleur Rooster
Horses
Hidden Timbers Shawnee War Chief aka Shawn a 1 year old Dark Bay Tovero Miniature Horse Colt. Soon to be a gelding because a moody, mean, stallion. Very different from his daddy (Hidden Timbers War Chief). He's landed three kicks on me now, and numerous bites. Even with my quick reflexes he manages to get me. He has rainrot ( he's prone to getting it for some reason) and I've been trying to treat it but he kicks and bites me throughout me trying to do so. He'll be gelded some time this week hopefully. Okay there ends my rant.
Second Chance aka Chance a 15 yr old Light Fleabitten Grey Miniature Horse Gelding.
Hitt's Samurai Sidekick aka Sidekick a 23 yr old Dark Bay Miniature Horse Stallion. We've owned Sidekick for 20 years now and he's still as laid back and sweet as ever.
Mike's Major Mack aka Mack or Big Mack Combo a 2003 14. 3 hh Flaxen Chestnut Pangare Haflinger Gelding.
Rosie Girl aka Rosie a 20 year old 13.3 hh Strawberry Roan Sabino Paso Fino Mare.
Not An Option aka Oppy a 25+ year old Sooty Buckskin American Shetland x Welsh Gelding. I co-own him with my grandmother (mom's side), and he's my best friend. Don't get me wrong I adore my other horses like family. But, for some reason Oppy holds an extra special place in my heart. My grandmother's owned him for 15 years, and I used to ride him until I outgrew him. Then, I just groomed and walked him around. I live in GA while my grandma lives in AL, so I don't get to see him all the time. Recently the decision is being made of whether or not to put him to sleep as he has severe lameness in his front feet and we suspect in his knees as well. I need to call my grandmother for an update if they've found a treatment or if they've had to put him down. I was there in late November and got to say my final goodbyes to him, knowing I wasn't likely to see him again.
I swear turning away from him to leave was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
Picture of Oppy and I in November.
Fish
I'll talk about them later.
I'm too tired to go into more descriptions but I'll edit later with info and pictures

Left to Right: Katie (though pronounced Cat-e), Smacky, Tigger, Bootsy
Bootsy is no longer alive, but besides the fact that he was the sweetest, bestest cat, this is also my favorite picture of my fur babies together.
BB-8, yep named him after the droid in Star Wars XD
