Best Screen Recoder for showing WIP

What program does everyone use to record themselves doing their art? Like for join.me? I'd need something that I can use outside of join as well, that doesn't have watermarks from the developer. Hopefully a free program, but I'll pay for one if it's good and easy to use.

The only thing that comes to mind for me is that Quicktime has a built-in screen recording function. That may only work if you have a Mac though, I'm not sure if they continued support for Windows with Quicktime or if that functionality is included.

Oh okay, I didn't even think of that. I have a macbook bro, but for some reason when I went to try to go do a join.me it wanted to use my webcam and I couldn't figure out how to get to just record my screen lol. I just got my computer back after not having one for 2 years so I'm still getting used to macs again, being a PC user for first 10 years of my graphic design. thanks!
