Points and stats

Which is preferred? I know from what I read on here so far (I've only been playing about a week) that high stats are sought after, but what about points?

I personally don't pay attention to points, stats are first to me.

I didn't even realize that the horses had points until now. Most people seem to prefer stats. I'm not sure what points do.

From my understanding points are just a bragging right, whereas stats will be inherited from parents to foals. I don't know if they originally had a purpose or if Abbey will give them more of a purpose down the line but as of right now the above seems to be true. Therefore, ultimately I would say stats are by far prefered and not many people pay much attention to points.

Points were the old stats before stats were introduced but they currently are currently pretty pointless. Don't quote me on this but I think Abbey said she was planning on give points a point (excuse the pun) other than bragging rights sometime in the future
