Ability to delete spare accounts...

I recently realized that I no longer have the time for my main account & a rescue account I had. I decided to empty everything out of the account. I then went on a search to find the option to delete the account. I finally ended up asking a very helpful mod what to do & was told there's no option for us to delete our spare or main accounts. We just sort of have to abandon them & they may someday get deleted from the server. That made me wonder how many abandoned accounts were on the server & if Abbey has been having to deal with trying to delete them on top of everything else she does for us. If we had the option to delete them ourselves it may free up some server space & save Abbey some work.

With us being allowed to have 3 accounts, I did realize that people might try to abuse the option to delete to have more accounts than they should. I thought perhaps to delete an spare account we could have to supply our main account email addresses & we would be allowed to delete only 1 spare account every 6 months or a year.

I know the feeling. I was going to delete my spare account and could not find a way to do it. However, I did decide to keep it. It actually might be a great place to keep new foals or locked horses till I'm ready for them. Also, a place to send mare foals I don't want to keep, but don't want to dump in the rc as a need to protect my line.

Being able to delete a spare account could be useful, however, there has to be a way to protect from people who will make one, send 50k too their regular account, delete it, make another, send 50k to their new account, delete it, and continuously do so.

While I would love to be able to delete my spare accounts or to merge all my accounts into one account; I honestly feel it would be too difficult to manage the feature so that people didn't abuse the system.

I don't really see the problem with abandoned accounts, why the need to delete it? If you don't want it, let it be. Then you will have the option to use it in the future, instead of creating more accounts.

I don't really see a need to delete an abandoned account, but if you really wanted to I don't see any reason why you can't just send in a ticket requesting the deletion. It's not as if this would happen often enough to create too much work for the staff. Doing this manually via a ticket would ensure people couldn't readily abuse the system by creating an account, transferring its contents to their main, deleting it, then repeating it ad infinitum.

No support. I'm sure this functionality already exists in a manual form, and automating it just opens it up for abuse, which would be tricky to prevent with coded-in protections.

My thought was to clear these abandoned accounts from the server. I was thinking getting this unused data off the server might help it run more smoothly.
