Horse Naming Guide & Ideas

I haven't seen anything like this so far, so I though I'd like to help. If you have suggestions I'll add them to a list below.
If you want to use one, just notify me.

Guide: Making names can be simple... or hard. I just add two words together, like magic and show, Magic Show. Or add on to a word; For ex; Ironix is a mix of the word Iron and ix. You can mash words together, like Leo and Veon, the new word is Leveon. Sophisticated words put together is cool, like Agonized and Arrow; Agonized Arrow.

I name my horses after my favourite songs. Sometimes they are really fitting to the horses :)

Do you mind if I put it in the guide part?

I like to find main themes for my breeds and name the horses all centered around that. My quarter horses are all named after ancient gods and goddesses from around the world, and my arabians are named after characters from famous books. A few examples of this could be

theme- Nature
Wildflower
Everest
Ceder
Willow

theme- elemental
Windspell
Firebreathe
aquadash
earthshatter

a word in many languges, fire
Ignis
Huo
Moto
Fuego

theme- Wow (world of warcraft)
Dragonflight
Orc
Crusade
Aura

and so on.

I use mythology - currently I have three different mythological pantheons for three different breeds: Greek for Mustangs, Roman for Arabians and Egyptian for Trakehners. If or when I add another breed I'll be using another mythological pantheon (I'm debating whether that will be Hindu or a Native American Mix) though I'm am forcing myself to not go over 200 horses...we'll see how long I can keep that up. ^^;

This is how I decide how to name my horses.

If pedigreed I will look at dam and sire's names and see if I can make a name up, if not I will look at the rest of the pedigree.

If no pedigree or I still cant think of a name, I will look at the horse and see if anything just pops, I will look at form guides (Racing), show sites etc to get ideas and then change them up.

For instance I had

Rose Concorde. Found a racehorse named Rose Jet, and Ive always liked concordes so Rose Concorde.

I like spooky things too, and I am a huge fan of two and three syllable words too, so I had Crime Scene, Tempt, Criminology, etc.

If still having issues I will ask my partner lol.

It'd be interesting if you put together a 'How to..'/Assistance Guide on naming (like the genetics guide on here but more suggestions since it's not exactly a hard science ^^;) so people who have a difficult time trying to figure out what to name their horses could have some assistance.
