I'm missing the competition

My horses are relatively low level and I'm still showing all of them*, everyday.... for EV $$$$ :P X

Yes, of course I could show mine for money, and make it hand over fist. That's not what I'm aiming for, though. I'm aiming for stat gain, and for that, I need competition.

I have two R5 showjumpers Confessor. I would love for them to gain actual stats.

Both of my unlocked R5 show jumpers are going to turn 21 tomorrow, and have already been put in a riding school. (I did it early in the morning so they would have every stat possible before breeding.)

In another week, I'll be unlocking another breeding pair, most likely R5s or at least nearly there.

For me personally, I have reduced how much I show my horses simply out of convince. I may not have a lot of horses, but between school work and my own activities, it leaves me hardly any time to take care of my horses (hence why they are currently all locked) and hardly any time to show them. It is a lot simpler and takes waaay less time to simply dump them into the schools because I know I will get a profit, and so far for every horse I have at least gotten 2 stats per horse doing the schooling.

Because my horses are only in novice I think there might be too many shows in novice. Most times I will enter my horse in a show with 4 other horses relatively early site time and the next day I get a horse who entered in 10 shows get stats from about 1-2 shows. And while it may be more profitable sometimes than putting them in the school, I know in the schools I will most likely get stats, which at this point I am mainly aiming for. I understand there are more horses in the novice category, hence meaning more are created, but even near when the shows run when I am sometimes online there are tons of shows with only 1 or 2 entries.

I've certainly noticed that a lot of upper level shows seem to be totally deserted. I use the horse search to see how many horses of a given discipline and grade exist, so I know whether it's even worth it to enter shows for that level... but sometimes even with fifteen or more horses eligible, there are no entries. In order to make money and gain exp, I may still enter horses in a few shows, even if I know they won't get stats, but it's a bit frustrating.

I wonder if Abbey's proposed new showing system will improve this?
