I'm not understanding how stats are inherited now. I'm assuming that changed while I was on hiatus too. I'm starting to get frustrated with it :( Can someone please explain it to me?

the short answer: we don't know yet and Abbey isn't telling ;)
there's currently an active thread in the Game Discussion forum if you'd like to catch up on what is known and contribute information to find out what the formula for inheritance is :)
