Treat Strategy

#69316 Posted on 2016-09-24 09:33:02

So with my next DWBs Ive got going on, Ive been thinking of doing special treats (sugar cubes/hay cubes/etc). Now I know if you switch disciplines, the stats are switched to their new discipline.

Is it worth it to do that now? Or is it frowned upon and a misuse of the system?

it's not a misuse of the system since you have to pay (first in EVD, then in EVC) to do so.

I personally set newborn foal's discipline as anything but what their actual discipline will be, and then feed peppermints (or haycubes if I'm running low) until they turn 3. at that point I pay the 10k to convert them to the discipline they were actually bred for.

Considering that discipline specific treats give 1-2 stats per day and peppermints give between 2 and 5, that can add up to a difference of about 60 stats gained in those 3 weeks between 0-3. That's worth the 10k for me, especially since most horses earn much more than 10k in their show career.

Ok good. Im not the only one thats thought of doing this then. I had a feeling it wouldnt be a misuse but rather ask then learn otherwise.

I was doing that with my stores, but I'm just not dedicated enough to keep track of it for my bred youngsters. (But I just in general have way too many horses.) I think it's a great strategy, though!
