I've been double-checking my breeding pairs this week and trying to catch any horses that fell through the cracks (I went on a buying binge, it's been fun). Lo' and behold I discovered that I had forgotten to transfer over a batch of Gypsy Vanner/Driving foundie stallions for some of my driving GV mares. Soooo I have 3 stallions for 6 mares (this is ignoring my flaxen foundations for a different project). I feel like a dingbat.

One option is to have each stud paired with two mares, and have their resulting foals either paired together, paired with a foal from my lined herd, or sold. The other option involves locking the foundations until a small army of driving foundation Gypsy Vanners gets raised to breeding age....but....I want to BREED and see all the pretty fruits of my labor! *heavy breathing* Hm, I guess I could also breed my faves and sell some "ready to breed" 800-900 stat foundation mares with 0 foals. I dunno, I'm indecisive. :-/

Any thoughts? Has anyone else found themselves in a similar position?

Yes. ;-;

I normally lock them away when they hit 19 years, and try to buy something off someone else of a similar standard. Raising another foundation/horse is my last resort and I don't tend to sell them because gdi I'm not letting some player breed two easy foals out of a horse I raised for weeks on end.

As a side note; totally interested in foundation GVs if you're selling. c;

@ maple - hahaha thanks for making me giggle. :) With my luck if I lock the horses I'll forget about them....again.... while I keep eyes peeled for a happy-statted foundie GV. O.o I hear what you're saying about the "easy foals." I hadn't even thought of that yet, I was so focused on my excitement being squashed, lol. I'll certainly let you know if I end up selling one or more of them - one group has a couple of weeks yet and another group has about a month left. =D

Once my older horses foals are born and their parents die, I'll be unlocking my Gypsy Vanners to work with. :) Wanna look at my stock to see if there's any studs you like from my two divisions they're in???
