Conformation breeding?

#68309 Posted on 2016-09-19 10:52:04

Does anyone know how it works? I'm breeding my GV's for confirmation and stats. I have my foundations and starting to work on my pairings. When you breed the pair together does it take the median number? For example stallion has 70.00 hooves and mare has 43.00 hooves. So the number the foal would have is 56.5. Or is there some other way. I'm just baffled how there's horses with confo's higher than 90 lol

Hi there!

You can find some good information HERE. I think understanding this is a work in progress, but the general consensus is that there are numerous factors that can influence how conformation between the generations works...it seems to be an average with a +/- range for each specific conformation trait and the "other factors" (and random luck) can swing the score either way.
