Frame Splash - Help

I know FrSp is Oo and Spsp or Oo and SpSp, but are there other ways to breed one? And does breeding FrSp x FrSp give you a 100% chance of FrSp?

To get a Frame Splash, you need at least one frame parent and one splash parent. You could breed a frame to a splash, or you could breed a frame splash to a non-frame, non-splash, or you could breed two frame splashes together.

There is no guaranteed way to get a frame splash, because frame is never homozygous (OO). There is always a chance that a frame will pass on its non-frame half. The reason why frame is never homozygous is because, in real life, homozygous frame foals die. It's called Lethal White Syndrome. The Frame Overo gene causes the intestines to form incompletely, so that food cannot pass completely through the digestive system. Lethal White Syndrome foals die within a few days of birth. Usually they are put down. Heterozygous frames do not have this problem, because their bodies have the non-frame half of the gene to tell them how to make intestines properly.

Abbey was nice and did not program this horrible problem into the game, but she did make it impossible to breed a homozygous frame. No one quite knows the new formula for determining the chances for getting a frame from breeding two heterozygous frames. Normally, you would get a 25% chance of homozygous (OO), 50% chance of heterozygous (Oo) and 25% of no frame (oo). With that first 25% chance no longer an option, we do not know whether those OOs were turned to Oos, or if they were turned to oos, or if, instead, it was approached like a three way split rather than a four way, so you would have two chances out of three to get an Oo (frame) and one chance out of three to get an oo (not frame.)

But, however it's calculated, when you breed a frame horse to another frame horse, you can either get a frame foal or a non-frame foal.

Splash is simpler. A splash that is SpSp will always have an Sp foal. A splash that is Spsp has a 50/50 chance of passing on the splash gene.

Two SpSp horses bred together will always produce an SpSp foal. An SpSp bred to an Spsp will produce half SpSp foals, and half Spsp foals. An Spsp bred to an Spsp has a 25% chance of having an SpSp foal, 50% chance of Spsp, and 25% chance of spsp. An Spsp bred to an spsp will have half Spsp foals, and half spsp. Two spsp horses bred together will never produce a splash.

Your best bet for getting a frame splash foal would be to breed two Oo SpSp horses together, or both Oo, and one of them SpSp. That would give you 100% chance of getting the splash, and at least a 50% chance of getting the frame. From that point, every frame or splash gene you remove from the breeding pair lowers your chance of getting a frame splash.

I know this is pretty complicated. I hope I was able to make things as clear as possible.
