[ADDED] Pedigree Comparison

Hey guys,

Further to comment on Abbeys recent article, I'm now going to submit this as an idea. I'm not sure if anyone has seen my comment however I basically said I was personally worried about interbreeding therefore it's easier for me to stick with the stock I have.

SO! What if there was an easier way to check the lines. Such as a 'compare pedigree' tool of some sort. Perhaps when you go to breed on the horse page, there would be a 'compare with' then a drop down bar of all eligible horses to breed. When submitting this comparison, it brings up both lines and highlights any which may be an issue. Red text of something? There's probably a million ways to show it however this one is just mine.

But why stop there? What if this compare tool also compared stats and conformation? Genotypes even? Possibly even a 'potential foal combinations'. But only a selected few, not all. Or chances?

I'm interested in what other members think of these? Or if you have your own way of checking pedigrees, I'd be interested to see how you do that also.

I struggle with genotypes also, I hope I'm not the only one!

I'd find this helpful, but I wouldn't need it to be elaborate. If it just said "yes" or "no" to having common ancestors I wouldn't need the whole highlighted/red text bit.

I like the potential foal combinations, like if both parents have been gene tested it can give you a list of all the potential colors. I'm too lazy/don't care enough about genes to try and figure it out for myself. xD

Possibly a choice as to whether you would like to personally check the lines (with highlighted concerns) or if you would prefer a simple yes or no as a quicker option. Deluxe members only for the even quicker option perhaps?? I personally would prefer to have a quick look at them manually (with highlighted concerns)... Every now and then. Just out of interest I guess. :)

I am also far too lazy to figure out the genes.. But I do like colours so I think I should take more on an interest in that haha.. Maybe even pay EVD for that feature. Treat is as kind of like a veterinary advice thing in the possible foal? I don't know. Just firing a few options out there!!

I'd be all over something to compare pedigrees between potential mates, especially for my own horses, lol. I NEED THIS. :D
