Most desirable colours

#61556 Posted on 2016-08-16 07:35:18

I have recently started breeding Lipizzaners and Arabians, and I am trying to breed for rarer colours and conformation, but I am not sure what colours ar the most desirable. I was hoping that people on the game could post the rarest colours for every breed, if you know what it is. Maybe a post with list in order of least rare to most rare (or vice versa) per breed. Thank you to everyone who helps :)

Arabians = Flaxen Chestnut. ♥

The flaxen gene is the exact opposite of the other genes, as you have to be homozygous recessive to have it show up. Look at Sparkling Storm's genes to see what I mean. :)

FF = no flaxen
Ff = not showing flaxen, but could throw flaxen if bred to another Ff horse.
ff = flaxen

Something else, even if the horse has ff in their genotype, if EE or Ee is included along with the AA, Aa, or aa; the flaxen won't show up. Black MUST be absent in order for flaxen to show up. :)

Hope this helps!!!

For Arabians:

like FG said, flaxen is very desireable, mostly because it's so rare. it was just introduced with the recode.

Chestnuts and Blacks are probably equally desireable. Bay is the least desireable. Some people like grey and some don't. For me, it depends mostly on what color the horse is underneath the grey :p

Arabians also have two white patterns - rabicano and sabino. I'd hazard a guess to say that sabino is slightly more desirable than rabicano, but really both are pretty sought after.

Since Arabians are my main breed, id be happy to chat more about them anytime :)

Thanks for the Lipizzaner info! I used to breed for color and was thinking about starting that up again. Just been breeding for conformation and starting to throw in stats.

This post was so helpful, I really wanted to know this stuff. I have 3 flaxens, some extreme sabinos (I don't know what the name for the ones that are almost fully white) and some that just carry the flaxen gene. So If you're interested in introducing flaxens or start introducing the gene let me know id be more than happy to help :) one of my flaxens is Shantih, she's the current club mascot for the Arabian club.

I just started a tiny herd of lipizzaners myself, so I'm thrilled to find out chestnuts are on the rarer side because I just accidently bred one trying for a bay (bays ar my favourite in lipizzaners but chestnut I very nice indeed haha), if you want any future breedings with the foal (a colt) id b happy to do it :)
