what are Private Lines?

Ok so i saw someone mention private lines today for horse breeding i am curious what this is.
Im starting my QH lines again and wasn't sure if private lines was like only breeding to your own horses or something like this cause if so im pretty sure thats what my lines are becoming so far.

Can you guys help me understand this a little better? Thanks :)

What I've surmised from the forums is that having "private" lines means that you do not allow your stock to breed to another player's stock. It can also extend to not really selling any horses that you've bred from your own foundations and their offspring.

oh ok thank you! Now thinking about it i will most likely be dividing up my mares for private lines and the others for breeding to other players stallions. This way i will be able to produce a wider variety of foals
