Buying horses from the Equine Center

#60208 Posted on 2016-08-10 11:12:09

Just wondering how many horses is typical to buy from the equine center before you get a more rare color. I just bought 100+ TBs from the center and got nothing besides chestnut and bay. Not even any alleles that could be bred to make better colors. Just didn't know if this is typical and if I'm going to have to buy another 100+ to try to get something else.

Every once in a blue moon is when you'll get rare colors/markings. They're supposed to be basic colors, gotta start from scratch!

I agree with Wey, although I have had a rare coloured Morgan one time.

the likelihood of getting anything other than black, bay or chestnut (or any of those plus grey) in any breed is very uncommon.

you'd have better luck buying color randomizers and using them on your best "plain" horses, because from what I understand, you have equal chances of getting any of the colors that the breed comes in when using one. so you're just as like to get a cremello as a chestnut. when buying from the EC, the odds are stacked for plainer colors since those are the most common in real life.

Thanks everyone for the help. I just started getting into color breeding more after focusing more on stats in my Arabian lines. Guess I'll just spend the money on credit items instead of buying up more from the equine center!

I agree with color randomizers. They're pretty inexpensive (depending on how many you want), and usually ALWAYS give out rare colors.
