The mare reminds me of Esmeralda from the hunchback of note dame with the hair and her colors in her clothes, also reminds me of Megara from the cartoon Hercules.
Also Virago, it's latin for strength, strong woman, heroine like character

The Stallion I really don't have anything really creative.
