I'm afraid what you're looking for (a layout that would be a typical deluxe layout AND work for basic) is pretty much impossible. Basic accounts only allow for BBCode to be used to set them up, which is very simple and cannot do any of the positioning etc available that can be done via the html/css that deluxe accounts can use, so no deluxe layout is going to be easily translatable into a basic BBCode version.

River, I completely forgot basic accounts couldn't use HTML. Kind of podd that only deluxe can use HTML, but I guess it isn't a big deal. Thanks River, for explaining why it is pretty near impossible, ;).

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. I think your best bet might be a nice image to go above an area where you put normal BBCode text.

Although it's not possible to have a layout like what you describe that works for both deluxe and basic, you can make two matching layouts in a similar theme. For example:
