How Many Shows Do We Really Need?

It looks like we have some huge gaps in Racing, mostly. If anyone out there has a good range of Racing horses who enters shows in the evening or is willing to enter shows in the evening for the trial, we would love to have you join our ranks.

Thank you, Wey. I don't have the number of shows recorded for yesterday's entries, though. I recorded Sunday's show creation, which will run later. It will actually be Wednesday (I said Tuesday, but I was mistaken. Shows created on Sunday will run on Wednesday.)

To view all the shows in a grade and division you don't actually need any horses competing in it, you can instead see it by tweaking the url for the show search page. For example, the following link will show you all open shows in N1 Racing:

To see those for N1 Dressage, the link is:
http://equiverse.com/shows.php?hid=268394&type=Dressage&fee=100

To break this down:
- The "fee=100" part of the link sets the max fee as $100, so you see all shows. Don't modify this.
- The "type=Dressage" sets the discipline. Change this to the different discipline names to see the others.
- The "hid=268394" part of the link defines a horse ID which I found using the horse search. This horse is in grade N1, so only N1 shows will show up. To get a different grade find a horse in the right grade, and put its id number in this spot.

I hope this helps you search all the divisions and grades you're investigating. I'll provide a series of links later when I have the time, unless someone else gets to it first. Also, you'll need to record things by 3:55am EV time, as Cron actually resets very slightly before 4am.

Wow, that's very useful information, UlyssesBlue. I did not realize there was any way to see shows without a horse available to enter, but that's a really brilliant solution.

I will definitely put that to use.

2.5 pages of less than 5 entries at 7:11 EV time for local 4 dressage.

OK, I have three days worth of show totals, so I'm ready to find out the results! I need left-over show data for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

At 640 EV time:

Dressage L2 had 4 pages with less than 5 entries.
Dressage R2 had 2 pages with less than 5 entries

Oops I was too happy clicking buttons. Didn't get a complete list that I meant to. Soooo...As of 7:50PM game time

Dressage:
N1 - 0 shows with 0 entries / 99 shows with four or under entries
N2 - 51 / 124
N3 - 18 / 36
N5 - 44 / 92

L1 - 22 / 126

I'm having a problem with the method Ulysses Blue described, so I was unable to gather information properly for yesterday's data. I will work on it today, and figure out what I was doing wrong, so hopefully I'll be able to get an accurate reading on today's numbers.

^ I've been having the same issues, so I don't think it's you. Some horse numbers just don't seem to work while others do and I can't figure out why. It seems pretty random.

Does it matter if you own the horse or not? I could look up my own that weren't shown yet but not other horses.

I started with a Dressage N1 horse, and it worked fine. But N2 kept giving me N1 shows, and I tried several different horses.

UB, have you managed to view the shows that are anything other than N1?

I may have to postpone this project until I get this figured out. Anyway, I'm concerned that the recent problems with shows not running/Cron wigging out will mess with our entry numbers, if people are discouraged and decide not to enter shows until it is fixed.

I will be showing around 6pm game time and will post the data I get. I have horses ranging from N1-L2 in multiple disciplines.

Yes, I have managed to get some others working, including using horses which weren't even owned by me. There seems to be no way to predict what will work and what won't. Perhaps just stick to your own horses for now?
