Breeding Question

#57474 Posted on 2016-07-29 12:36:49

This may have been answered elsewhere, and if so please feel free to point me in that direction. :)

I'm now level 6 and can breed. That said, I've put my mares and stallions into shows for the day. If I were to try and breed the mares right now, would they not be able to do their shows, or would I get an error saying I can't breed them because they're showing right now? I'm not sure how that works, though I do know that once they're pregnant, they can't show. (Can they train, though?)

Thank you!

Pregnant mares cannot be trained either, but they can be put into the Riding Schools. :)

However, you may be able to breed your horses, I'd wait until they are 18 years old at the youngest. Better stats on foals = more people willing to buy them. :)

And for your foals you are going to keep, I suggest waiting until 20 years old ages tomorrow, so the mare's stats are at the highest peak for breeding, and the mare will give birth before she dies. :)

Welcome to Equiverse Shadeling!!! Hope this helps. :)

To answer the original question, you can breed while they're showing- it has no effect on the shows or the breeding. Mares can be trained and shown until two days before they're due to give birth, however you can still put them into riding schools during that time too.

While the majority of players breed for stats and therefore breed as late as possible in order to produce the best foal for their pairings, there's nothing wrong with breeding your horses now if you really want to.

My experience has been that mares can be shown until the day before they give birth, but cannot be trained while pregnant. I could be mistaken, but I'm really pretty solidly sure this is the case.
