It's pretty good! I would work on the head a bit, but other than that it's awesome ;)

Yeah, I agree...I want to improve upon the head, but I basically am taking photos of standard horse poses and eyeballing them to practice my sketching so I can get the feel for it, so it'll be a matter of time before I pick up all the details. I'll probably get pretty comfortable with it if I give my sketching about 5 to 15 minutes per night, then I can work on shading. :)

yeah, that's a great idea, the more you draw horses the more you get used to their shape and understand anatomy. In no time you'll be making up poses of your own ;) It really is a good sketch!

Thanks, guys! I'm hoping to come up with a sketched piece to put in the school art show in the spring. :)

Great work. My suggestion would be to work on proportions. Making sure the head is proportional to the rest of the body, ect. (I find that the head is the hardest thing to make proportionate, no matter what creature I'm drawing, horse, human, cat, ect.) Trying different positions is a great technique. I find it's best to start with the basics, standing straight and so on, and then moving to more difficult positions, such as odd angles or rearing ( I still can't get these most of the time.) These are my suggestions.
