Would anyone be interested in...(new question)

Since I've got my answer for basing services, I'll use the same post to ask another "would you be interested in" question :P

Would anyone be interested if I did a thing where I either A. Create a character and cut off the body of the lineart, and then the buyer of whichever char head will have the character revealed to them or B. Create a PIECE of a character on just the head/neck portion of a lineart and the buyer gets to create the rest of the character? Let me know whether you'd be interested in A, or B, or both!

For those who don't what basing is, basing is where someone would take a lineart, and fill it in on different layers. For example, if you gave me ( this ) lineart, I would first color in the body, and make a separate layer titled "body color". Then, I would color in the mane and tail and create a separate layer for those. The last layer I would make would be for the hooves and eye. Once I finished, I would send you a PSD version of the colored lineart and you would be able to go in and color each separate layer however you wanted to without having to worry about going outside the lines, because I would have already taken care of that for you. Here is an example of a based lineart that has not been colored in. You can see where each layers are represented through different colors.

The price of each service would depend on the lineart you wanted based. For easier linearts like this, I might charge 35k. For harder linearts like this I might charge an upward of 65-75k.

That's what gave me the idea lol. I'm so so lazy, so I base every lineart I use incase I want to use it again in the future. And once it's based, it's so much easier to go crazy with a design.

My only concern would be the legality of it if you were to base someone else's lines for a price ( unless the person asking you made the lines themselves of course)

Buck, I was thinking about that too. A lot of the lines I've based, I've noted people on dA and asked if it would be okay I let people pay to use my bases, and a lot of them said yes, so I would definitely write somewhere that people would need to check/ask if it would be okay they bought a based version of the lines they wanted.

Wey, another thing, if I might add, is for you to ask for screen shot proof of the correspondance, just to have your own backside covered. I would also screen shot and save any correspondance you have with the people asking you to base the lines too. For legal reasons.

Yeah, be careful with selling bases. I don't do it myself for that reason unless I've completely made everything by myself.

But I love basing things so that's not a problem. xD

Oh, true, you're right :D Well, if I get 4-5 more people interested, I'll for sure do this.

I'd say A with the option to design the other side of the horse if they wanted to?
