Sugar and Hay exchange for basic treats

#52943 Posted on 2016-07-15 00:34:37

In one of the Game Discussion threads players mentioned that they don't use Sugar and Hay Cubes that much or even don't use them at all. I, too, keep treating my horses with usual treats, and since I regularly enter my horses to Riding Schools, there are tons of unused Sugar and Hay Cubes in my inventory. I don't sell them in the market because the prices for these treats are very low, so I don't see any point in making profit from them. And this situation gave me idea for this suggestion.

What if we were able to exchange Sugar and Hay Cubes for normal treats (apples, carrots, etc.)? Say, 1000 uses of special treats for 100 uses of normal treats? This would cut inflation of prices for special treats, and make Sugar and Hay Cubes useful for players that don't actually use them in treating their horses.

I'm assuming you mean to 'exchange' with the game, correct?

Yes, ingame mechanism of exchange. A subdivision in General Store, for example.

I have been using my Hay Cubes for my horses, but am now forcing myself to use them only for my retired horses, and using the regular treats for my younger horses that AREN'T retired.

I support this completely, or even something similar to this. I too do not use my Sugar Cubes or Hay Cubes. Because if one really thought about it, and because my sister also did a experiment using those treats.

Despite them giving you plenty of stat points on some occasions. They give points in the wrong stats. So as you get more points in the wrong stats (Strength, Intelligence, etc), your horse may level up show grades the more points you get, but don't do well compared to the other horses, whose used normal treats that have put more points in the right stats for a discipline.

So lets say, you have a two dressage horses. Once horse my sometimes use special treats and the other uses only normal treats. Though the horse that uses special treats may level up show grades faster, the horse that uses normal treats only would fair better in shows as they have the points gained in the right stats higher then the horse that gets points in all stats from their special treats.

I hope that makes sense, because it did to me. But this is the reason I don't use special treats, as they just don't so as good because they put horses in higher levels with how many stat points they have, but the points are more spread out because you can't control where they go. So having something that could make the special treats more valuable would be great!

I would definitely like to see the sugar cubes and hay bales change, as they seem to be quite useless in their current form.
There is a similar suggestion regarding this here, which proposes the type of stats these items give be dependant on the horse's discipline. Just wondering how people feel about each idea, since they both attempt to address this issue, but in different ways.
