lines-What do you think?

#5120 Posted on 2016-02-18 15:13:06

I tried some lines from sketches that I drew and I was wondering if I could get some critique :)

Fluffy pony

Draft horse

constructive criticism is allowed but please don't be too harsh (I am pretty sensitive) and any tips are welcome!

They're very good for a first(?) try! A lot better than what I used to make- I did teeny tiny little strokes trying to make it look like a "sketch" but it always ended up a mess. This is very clean and you have general shapes down very well.

Are you using a mouse? One tip I'm sure you might know is that a tablet may help immensely since mice can't be used to make tapered/faded line ends. Another tip is to add lines in the manes- time consuming, but useful so you don't have a solid block when coloring.

Overall, you're definitely really good with basic shapes and understanding of how horses look!

One thing if you don't have the ability to do pressure sensitivity is going back in with an eraser and thinning out some lines, or making their points sharper, etc. It's more time consuming, but can really help take your art to the next visual level!

Thank you Starstuffi! I use this brush/pen as I feel comfortable with it but is not the best I have one that is more 'smooth! But it's tricky to use :/
