Happy 4th of July to all of us in the United States!

Please remember to have fun but stay SAFE! Also keep in mind that more cats and dogs go missing today than any other day of the year and that July 5th is the busiest day for animal shelters. Keep your dogs safely contained- they get scared too!

So how are y'all celebrating?! Unfortunately, it's raining all day here in Tennessee so it's doubtful I will make my way to the big firework celebration. Instead, I'm going to be making about 12 jars of my canned strawberry preserves (what's more 'merican than that?!) and relaxing at home.

And because it's funny, here's a picture of my Goldendoodle, Baxtor, in his 4th of July apparel. He's not amused... but I am xD

Happy Fourth! I'm going to my grandparents where we shall consume cake! If our weather holds we shall go to fireworks tonight! So far it's bright and sunny but we shall see, I'm keeping my fingers crossed :) my favorite ones are the ones I always called sandpaper (no idea why), you know the golden ones that crackle until they fizzle out? It's not a complete show if they don't have some of those lol.

For us it's sort of a red, white, & boo. Our town moved our fireworks to tomorrow night because it's going to rain here tonight & my husband, who does heating & air conditioning for a University, got called into work to work on a giant A/C unit on a building. The university has Summer classes tomorrow so it needs to be fixed today. At least we can watch the fireworks on tv tonight together.

@Valzed Hopefully your hubbie gets paid extra today!

We have about 20 people coming over to eat at 2, so I've spent much of the morning prepping and assembling foodstuffs. Really happy because some of my good friends are coming in from an hour or so away,and I've missed them. :) Baby Ducky is suuuuuuper excited by all the action and is refusing to take naps, so I predict a very tiring evening with an over-stimulated and over-tired child. :(
