Wisdom teeth....why now:(

I can't help too much with the price of it, since I was on my dad's insurance and I think it was covered (I don't know, thank you bank of dad). I just know he was pushing me to try to get them done before I was off his insurance. They could only do the two though, my top two are apparently doing the tango with my sinuses and if they messed something up I would have issues for the rest of my life.

But you do need someone (a licensed driver - I ended up having to go pick up my fiance's cousin and her boyfriend when she took him to his appointment an hour away and then told her that she only had a permit and wouldn't be allowed to drive him home) to take you there and drive you home, because otherwise you won't be allowed to leave. It's a pretty short procedure, at least mine was, so if they have a book or a phone it shouldn't feel like a long wait.

Worst scenario

Mine came in without issues or being noticed, then they broke, rotted and rotted teeth around them (infection) I lost 3 teeth on one side and two on another (lower jaw) my uppers don't exist.

I didn't have dental insurance at the time everything happened so it got bad. I just finished 2 years insurance money worth of dental work to catch up to years of not having dental insurance.

As for a ride, they will allow taxis to pick you up if you schedule it all in advance.

I had one pulled at age 12, and the remaining three out at age 13. Not the most pleasant experience, but if you listen to your surgeons directions (and DO NOT DRINK FROM STRAWS YOU WILL GET A DRY SOCKET AND THAT IS AWFUL) you will be fine. My cheeks were swollen and my face was bruised for a few weeks, but the only complication I had was after my second surgery, ended up with an abscess, was painful but went in for an emergency appoint, got it drained and was put on more antibiotics.

Just listen to your surgeons directions, don't drink from straws, soft, not hot foods etc etc (should be explained with surgeon). It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, at least not in my opinion.

Good luck :D

I got my wisdom teeth out not this past November, but the one before. Initially I was scared about the sedation and the IV, but they had me put these patches with numbing cream on my arms well before the actual surgery, so by the time they did anything with the IV I had no sensation of it.

After that it went extremely easily - all of my teeth were erupted and not weirdly placed, and after it was all over I was told the procedure was very easy. My pain was so minimal all I took was some ibuprofen.

The most annoying part was not being able to feel my face for a little while afterward, which made eating the yogurt I had really difficult. XD The fun part was the number of creamsicles and the amount of ice cream I had. There wasn't much to it other than that.
