A Hedgehog for Dia (lots of pics!)

If you saw my introduction post where I announced my return, you also saw my new furbaby!
I have wanted a hedgehog since I was a little girl. Since I'm moving into a pet-friendly apartment in the fall, I figured now was the perfect time to live my dream! I started researching and planning back in November '15, gathered my money, and brought my little girl home on June 6, 2016.
This last year at school for me was pretty difficult due to some health issues (undiagnosed celiac), stress, and anxiety. Our dog always helped me when I was home, but at school I didn't have her around. I'm hoping that having my new little creature will provide the same relief.

Her name is Thea, short for Theanine, which is an amino acid found in some teas. It is thought to improve mood and reduce stress.... I love this little creature so ridiculously much. We play every night and I weigh her each morning. I'm such a nervous wreck though, that something might happen to her. My mom tells me I'm acting like a new mother! (That's because I am! My child just has quills ♥) I'm even fitting the "flood social media with pictures because my baby is the cutest" description.


This is the first picture I took with her on the day I picked her out, about a week and a half before I took her home.

6/15/16 A little over one week with me... and she's gained 50 grams and is rivaling my hand in size! (Growth spurt? I think yes).
