I was wondering if anyone would have a look at my current Dutch Warmblood breeding groups and let me know what they think. If someone wants to take the time that is.
I'm aiming for confo first, stats second.
They are grouped by letter, so Groups A and B black dwbs and Groups A and B chestnut dwbs.
I had been hoping to have 3 groups (1 stallion to 3 mares) per color, but it hasn't panned out the way I had hoped. I'd be willing to gender change/color change horses if someone has a good plan.
Some horses are named "Holding" with no letter before their name, and these are horses I'm on the fence about including.
Most of them are locked while I train/show up horses that need to get caught up, but some that are marked by pairing are not locked.
Since confo is my primary goal, I'm going to get as many foals as I can, and sort those out as keepers or not.
Breeding will start at age 15, and I'm getting close to starting time.
This is my first big breeding project, and I don't want to screw this up
I was considering not including any horse under 59% but I had some mostly "good" 58% horses and got to a point where I just needed stock. I still kind of don't like the 58%ers but...idk. What do you think?
I really appreciate anyone who takes the time for a solid review of the situation. Thank you in advance.
Here are the two locked groups:

Okay let's see what kind of damage I can do. :P
Since your horses are all in the same general stat range, I'm not going to be too worried about that.
For the first group, I would say you have two options.. You can either breed all similar confo (which it looks like you did) or breed opposites and hope it balances. That means your worst horse with your best horse. I personally do that with stats, just because then I end up with decently average horses instead of a few foals kicking it in the top 10 and the rest lagging behind.
For similar:
Blue Monday x Talk Talk
Girl from Mars x Wednesdays Child
Army of Me x Love Cat
Red Right Hand x Holding2
For opposites:
Blue Monday x Holding2
Talk Talk x Red Right Hand
Army of Me x Girl from Mars
Love Cat x Wednesday's Child
Group Two
Similar:
Wolfgang Press x Street Preacher
Everything Zen x Kommissar
Anna Begins x Black Metallic
Mudhoney :( (optionally: Public Image)
Opposites:
Wolfgang Press x Mudhoney
Anna Begins x Street Preacher
Black Metallic x Kommissar
Everything Zen :( (optionally: Public Image)
For the rest of the groups I mixed them together. They're close enough that not much of a difference would be made if you did different pairings.
Wonderwall x Salisbury Hill
Mudhoney x Black Parade
Seven Nation Army x Writing Tragedy
If you did holdings:
Holding x Holding5
Holding3 x Holding 4
I hope that gives you a little something to think about and consider!! I've never paired by conformation before so I'm hoping that would balance out. Good luck and happy breeding!
