Preview of an up and coming tag. :D

Any critique on the water would be nice, I am attempting to paint it out in Photoshop, so advice using those specific tools would be really nice

I'm the worst at articulating advise but I'll give it a shot:

Usually with water I shade it like it's a smooth flat surface with a soft round brush and the blending tool to get a nice base. Then I go over it with hard brush adding details without blending at all. The details will look way too harsh at this stage. Then I go through with the blur and blending brushes and smooth it out. How much texture I leave in depends on the type of water I'm going for. For a lake I blend a lot until it's mostly smooth again, for a river/stream I blend until smooth but then go in and add little bits of hard detail back in (rapids and such), for the ocean I blend very little then go in and add things like sprays, waves ect with a hard brush and a stippling brush.

Also remember that water is a clear reflective surface. It reflects the colors of the sky, landscape and figures as well as (depending on the depth of the water) what is underneath it. So the rest of the image will dictate the coloring of the water.

Thank you, Sasan! I was debating on doing a beach or a cave setting with this water. XD
