Earning Your Wings [RP]

Kye-Ree

Kye laughed as she leaned against the large gate, "Dexter, your like... A twig compared to me, you won't last long." She finished with a grin, before looking to Mel. "Oh and Mel, don't worry, Elle is coming to the rescue." The blonde haired girl said, she still took some deep breaths but her heart beat was slower now and she felt she could breath much easier now that she has had her break.

Dexter ran away from Elle with his loud laughter trailing behind him. "A twig I may be, but I'm so much faster. I'm like a ninja in the night!" He proved his point by pulling his hood over his head, and did what was assumed to be a parkour jump. He jerked to the right before taking a left with a little whoop. "Now for my secret weapon... Jeremy, attack!" He ran past the boy, tapping him on the shoulder.

"I swear you were dropped on your head as a baby." Mel said with a snort, crossing her arms with a loud huff. She wandered over to James, someone she found the most bearable out of all of them, mostly because he was the most quiet besides Wendy. Her rude remark towards the energetic boy was only responded with, "I was. Twice!"

Kye-Ree

Kye couldn't stifle the laughter that was now escaping her, "Dropped on your head?" Was all she could say before the laughter came rolling out and she had to grip her sides. "Now that's just cruel, Mel." It was quite funny, and she wasn't sure if she should determine if it was true or just a continuing joke, either way, it was funny. But when Dexter replied with him being dropped twice, it only caused the short blonde to double over again in a fit of giggles. "Oh my, you guys are going to kill me. I could die laughing here you know." She said with a wide grin, her sides now sore as she still lent against the gate.

Rueben

"Guys, I have the pairings!" Rueben shouted, waving the paper over his head. He grinned as he scanned them. "This is gonna be good," he thought, and started to read them aloud.

"Wendy and James,
Kye-ree and Dexter,
Melanie and myself,
Elle and Jeremy,
Rose Anna and Brenden."

A booming voice came over the speakers, saying, "If all pairs could get together and walk into the arena to meet your dragons and Dragon Masters." The gates swung open, creating an entrance into the old arena.

Jeremy

The dark haired boy stood back, chuckling to himself with a grin on his face as his friends picked on one another. What were friends if they didn't pick on you once in a while? And it was all in the name of fun, nothing said was really all that serious anyway.
As Dexter tapped him on the shoulder he froze, wait what? he asked, a little surprised by the fact that he was the "secret weapon". This is freeze ta- Whoa! he laughed and sped off away from Elle, avoiding the oncoming girl, but just barely after the surprise attack. Jeremy stopped a few feet away, hands on his thighs, slightly bent over, poised to escape again if need be. As he caught slight of Rueben and the paper he was holding in his hand he stood up to his full height and walked towards the shorter boy. Oh boy, here goes. he thought to himself.
As his name was called after Elle's he turned to look at the short, reddish brown haired girl. This could be a lot of fun. he thought shrugging to her, a grin on his face. At least he was paired with someone who had similar interests as himself, which would make training that much easier. Shall we? he asked the girl playfully as he bowed and held out his forearm, a giant smile on his face.

Elle grinned back at Jeremy. "Let's not go in with style. Maybe someday we can make a dramatic entrance via dragon, though." With a laugh, she shoved him and whispered, "You're frozen." With that, she began to walk towards the entrance, anticipating the moment she would set eyes on her dragon.

Jeremy

Her denial left him slightly frustrated but he hardly showed it. How does Dexter get them to flock to him? he questioned himself as the gears in his mind started rolling. The warmth of Elle's hand on his shoulder brought him back before he got too far, and he froze at her whisper, a smirk coming to his face, But I can't be, who's gunna walk in wit-.... he paused and watched the girl take a few steps before deciding that he didn't want to miss the dragon pairing. Jeremy quickly made his way to her side and tried to keep his focus forward. He couldn't help his eyes from wandering down to the shorter girl, I hope we get silver ones. was all he could think of. Great going genius....

Elle
Elle thought over the prospect of silver dragons for a moment, eyes ahead. "Silver would be cool. I personally don't care what color, though. I'm excited to be lucky enough to even get a dragon." She looked up at the boy, a warm smile spreading over her face. "I think, no matter what color we have, we'll be the best out of all of them. We'll work well together." Elle retreated back into her own mind for a moment, thinking of a beautiful beast letting her stroke it. She hoped her dragon would at least be slightly affectionate.

Dexter ran over to Kye with a whoop, tackling her with one of his best hugs. "Kye, baby! We are in it to win it!" He exclaimed excitedly. He squeezed her tightly, and spun her around, his hood falling down. Despite his small frame, he never let that stop him. "Lets show these scrubs how we operate!" He put her down, his bright eyes gleaming with excitement. He snatched up her hand, and continued to drag her toward the old arena.

Mel quietly approached Rueben, and studied him cautiously. She pursed her lips before offering him a small smile, best to get along anyway. "Ready?" She asked in a softer tone than usual. She eyed the others carefully, then began following after them into the arena.

Kye grinned as she was heaved up into the air. "I couldn't agree more." She replied, and once she was set back down on the ground she took a deep breath before nodding to Dexter with a smirk. "We will show them, we'll show something they would never forget." She announced loudly before she was dragged to the arena with a laugh. She was excited to see what her dragon will be, she wasn't sure what colours were there, but if anything, blue, black or silver would be nice. She could also handle even greens, yellow's and purples. But she guessed all of them had to wait for when they will get their dragon."

Wendy quietly followed the others as they headed towards the large doors. She smiled a little but mostly just kept quiet. She didn't stay too close to the others. She lagged behind a little and thougt about a few things. What color Dragon would she get? Who would she be paired with? All these questions puzzled her. Wendy was a little overwhelmed with it all. She sighed and kept on walking., noticing the increasing space between her and the others. The girl shoved her hands into her pockets and kicked a rock along the dusty trail. Wendy truly hated being so shy, be she honestly just couldn't help it. She glanced around at all the boys. Every boy seemed to like every girl but her. And that killed her inside. She groaned at the thought.

James noticed Wendy wandering off and trotted over to her. "Wendy, we're going into the arena. You and me were paired up together." He gave her an encouraging smile, shoving his book into his back pocket as he did so. "We might want to hurry, though; I don't want to get shut out of the arena and miss meeting our dragons." He stuck his hand into his front pocket, looking around for a moment. Wendy and him might not end up being the best, but they would be able to work hard and try. All that mattered to Jimmy was if they tried their best.

Wendy was jolted out of her day dreams by the sound of a boy's voice and the sound of footsteps. She glanced up to see Jimmy walking to her side. She smiled to the boy. When she heard that she was paired with him she laughed a little. She hadn't been paying attention when pairs were announced. "Sorry for lagging behind..." She said to him quietly with a small smile. "I don't reallyl like crowds." She confessed. She looked ahead and saw that the others had already gone inside. She glanced to him. "I don't wanna get left out either. Tell you what... I'll race you. Ready... Get Set... Go!" She said and took off, running as fast as her little legs could go.

Jimmy laughed, his lanky legs making it easy for him to catch up. He skidded to a halt by the entry, waiting for Wendy to catch her breath and catching his own. He was panting a little bit. "As soon as we're breathing normal again we can head in," he said between pants, leaning against the entrance. "What dragon color do you want?" he asked.
