Riding Schools: A use for geldings

#40353 Posted on 2016-05-23 14:36:35

I have some geldings as a way of making some extra money. They do decently enough in shows, but don't really "win". On a whim, I tossed a gelding of mine into a riding school for 10 hours.

Hot Shot completed his schooling time!

Me thinks I need to expand the gelding barn. Especially since the single treats now give equal stats as the bagged ones.

Good job Hot Shot! But, I wonder how he did with an "eager young child"? ;)

Feathered: He probably drooled on them. The mellowest horse I knew was an older mustang mare.

Gelding barns for this...pretty much a perfect idea! :o geldings shall have a use while mares and stallions go to rack of the trophies and such (some people might look at that as an indicator for potential inhereted luck! I don't know. XD)

Definitely a good use for geldings! It also keeps retirees from sitting around being mooches. And is a way to keep horses improving even if they've hit a grade level in which they don't have enough competition to gain stats in shows.

This is a 'Yay! I can horde geldings now' feeling. Once I get my foundies up and tested more or less, I'll start going for some boys who I won't need for breeding. :}
