Bikini ready?

#39329 Posted on 2016-05-19 07:47:25

So, summer is coming. Last week half of my school already went in hotpants, shorts, skirts and everything else I have a phobia for x]

This kinda made me realize that I grew quite a bit last year, cuz' I used to work at McDonald's... Quite a bit... Cough...

So about two weeks ago I started to cut back on the snacks and soda's, excersising a bit more and guess what, in less than two weeks I lost about 4-5 pounds already :D
Maybe I can get something like a bikini body after all!

So, anyone of you recognizing this problem? Or struggling to keep it? Tips\tricks? Talk about it here! Or about your favortie bikini or summer outfit :D

Despite living fairly close to the beach I actually don't like going to the beach (doesn't help that my family has a history with skin cancer), soooo summer for me means sitting around and reading, writing, painting, and being creative. Soooo my summer clothes would probably be my pajamas. XD

Honestly, I've never really had any problems with my weight... probably mostly because I'm constantly stressed and the only way to get rid of stress for me is to move (if I'm at home and waiting for something, I pace a lot, and if I am in a situation where I can't pace I tend to bounce my leg). I've been working on ways to reduce stress, and one of the things that helps is going on a 2 ½ mile walk with my Dad once a week. I run probably about ½ mile of that just to really let the stress of life out. I'd say just remember to be healthy about it. Drink lots of water. If you feel hungry in between meals, opt for nuts and other healthier options. Don't just let yourself starve if you truly are hungry in between meals. You'll just end up being tempted to eat more than you really need when you sit down to eat.

Edit: Hello, me again. I promise I'll shut up after this but I just wanted to say that the most important thing is that you are happy with yourself. If you feel healthy and happy, then who cares what other people think? The ones who matter will love you for your personality, not how you look.

EV fitness Group!

I'm hosting a couple of challenges on that topic to try and get healthier if you wanted to join in!

As for tips and tricks, eat healthy (more fruits/veggies less sugar/fried foods) and exercise (whatever gets you moving).

I've been struggling lately since I've been having knee problems, so exercising is difficult. I'm personally trying to loose some fat and gain some muscle, especially leg muscles(for my knees).

I wear shorts and a half tops most of the time for summer. Surprisingly enough I don't have any bikinis. O: I should change that.

Going on a study trip made me lose weight. But in 'flat' Netherlands we don't have hills to cycle on. I cycle 14 km with a 65 meter climb in it daily now. Can't do that at home though.. So I lost weight now, but I am scared it will grow right back when I am home again :(

Haha, we eat very healthy stuff here in Sevilla every day. I normally live in the flat Friesland, so no hills like in Limburg.. I even eat more sugar now than at home, I now drink water with lemonade in it, because the water tastes like chloride here.. At home I only drink crystal clear or water.

@cheyenne, Quite frankly if running around your house in front of your TV is your fitness then go for it!. I only offered the topic because I'm currently hosting a challenge to drink water and a separate one to "Exercise" whatever it may be to you. :P

Cheyenne, no one ever said don't starve yourself, though. If I read the comment you're responding to correctly, it was not to let yourself go hungry between meals, not just "don't starve yourself." That is actually a tip, because if you snack between meals and keep your meals smaller, you will be healthier and lose more weight.

As for me, I don't believe I've ever had a bikini ready body in my entire life. But that's alright, because I don't swim. Problem solved. x)

I've worked in restaurants as well and being in the military I have to stick to certain body limits so I don't usually have to worry about being overweight I just have to maintain what I have. The first thing you should do is cut out any and all drinks containing sugar and caffeine or just sugar. Sugar alone is addicting and is very similar to illegal substances in the way it works on your brain. They "excite" the same type of receptors in the same place. So yeah get off those.
The best that I found to do is to bring my own food to work, I would bring cut up bell peppers in all colors, a piece of fruit, like an orange or mango all cut up already and just snack through the shift. It's more likely that you will snack on something that is already cut up than have to stop what you are doing and cut it up, plus it's much easier to just grab something as you pass by.
Even though it might seem more expensive to do, think about the health problems you will have later in life, how much stress, pain, or fear will you be in? How much will pay to fix them? It is nothing in comparison, plus healthy foods taste great.
Plus there is a difference between having a little chub and being chunky. A little chub is good/fine, chunky is where it starts to effect your body. The same goes for the reverse though, being too skinny is horrible for your body where as being just skinny is okay. Ideally your body needs a little fat though.

How to get a perfect beach body:

1) Have a body
2) Go to the beach
3) Forget about those ridiculous "beauty standards" ladies!
