things trainers say

Oh! And the iconic "GRAB THE SADDLE HORN!" when the horse was losing patience.

"One more time"
*300 times later*
"ok, just one more"

My teacher is very nice,

"HEELS DOWN, TOES UP!" (Repeated at LEAST 30 times throughout the lesson)

"Luna, don't hold your hands higher than the saddle horn!" *After repeating several times* "I'm gonna duct tape your hands to that saddle. You think I'm joking, but I WILL tape them."

"Don't say GIVE ME THE REINS, or I will take the bridle, detach the reins, and give them to you. Say give me the BRIDLE."

*Is posting on facebook a picture of me and the pony I was riding with kittens also riding* "Okay, the kittens will probably jump off when you start her, you can go now." (The kittens didn't, instead they dug their claws into the pony so she starts bucking and I lost the reins and grab the saddle horn) "Woah! Get your reins back... PULL BACK ON THE REINS SLOWLYYYY.... Hey, I thought you were gonna fall off, but you didn't!"
Morale of this story: Never ride a pony with kittens.


Oh and one time we were playing a game where there are two buckets of water on two barrels, and there are four riders and it's like a relay race. Two buckets on the end, and we take two cups, take water from a bucket on a barrel, ride to the other side, dump the water, go back and do the same thing, then switch riders.
"Okay, so- Luna, luna, LUNAAAAA DON-" *Horse I was riding knocks over bucket of water on barrel trying do drink it* "SIGH. I'll just refill it" *Starts refilling while the other rider's horse got the idea from my horse that the water was good to drink* "Hey, don't let him-" *Other rider's horse knocks down the whole barrel* "Uggggggggggggggggggggggggg."

There was more, since we ended up cantering and knocking down all of the buckets XD

I have the nicest trainer ever, though. She's always helping us ♥

"One, two, up! One, two... *me falls off horse at a jump* told you you'd end up on the ground if you kept looking there...."
"No... no... fix your seat.... fix your... fix... ope. Never Mind. Get up, get back on, and this time FIX YOUR SEAT!"
"I can't watch.... *turns away in shame*"
"Please tell me you have some other none certified coach trying to sabotage the perfect work I had done with you lower leg. PLEASE!"
"You know what, hold this. *shoves broom handles in front of my elbows and behind my back* now maybe your hands will stays away from his neck!"

I forgot the time we went cross country schooling and my pony took off at a gallop before I had gotten my stirrups after my trainers 17.2hh thoroughbred cross who was cantering almost 200 meters away and caught up and passed her horse. This is what I heard:
"Why are you stopping him? Why? That's the best seat I've seen you do in months!"
Me: "yeah, I was trying not to die!"
"Do that more often. It looks good. Just smile next time."
Me: "but...."
"No buts. Try that little ditch without stirrups and see what happens"
Me: *gallops pony at ditch with no stirrups*
Pony: *makes his Grand Prix aspirations known sad jumping the tiny ditch like it's a 4 foot square oxer*
Me: "I'm going to die!"
"No you're not. Grab your stirrups and try it again. That was atrocious."

The only memorable one I can think of, with one of my favorite trainers, is her telling me,

 ''Breathe! Ok, ok, no, stop. Sit back, roll your shoulders, and BREATHE!'' ''It's been a minute since I saw you take a breath'' ''You're not drowning, air is available'' ''Just relaaax'' ..Apparently I would stress out and focus too much on the horse and my posture and not breathe :') I never realized this, hah. I expect my new trainer to tell me this, as well. Hehe

All I remember is my trainer saying, "feel the horse out" and "correct your posture and fixes your reins"

I get "Heels down" and "hands!" a lot lol.  Still working on proper posture.
  
The best so far was having my Instructor Lunge me.  I thought she was crazy at first, but it was a good way for me to figure out how to lunge a horse.
