Who else loves to read? I certainly do, though lately I haven't been as into it as I need to (hoping to read some great books to get me back!) I figured we could create EV's version of a Goodreads; book suggestions, recommendations based on previously read, reviews, etc. Or talk about books you liked, just cause.

LOL Iosteh! (Not sure what happens in Mockingjay yet.) My mom is reading my brother and I Catching Fire, we have watched and read the first and now watched Catching Fire. I love it! LOL. I really like the Pegasus series by Kate O'Hearn and anything by Angela Dorsey

I'd love to have an EV book club of sorts! I know there've been various threads about favorite books, but I'd love something that's fairly ongoing that people can add to as they're looking for something to read or as they've finished reading something and want to give either a positive or negative review.

This is a good idea! Maybe there should be an under 13s club and one for people who are older than 13, to stop under 13s from reading unsuitable books?

I'll throw another post in the Under 13 board and we can consider this post "anything goes" meaning younger books or adult books. Feel free to consider this the 'official' book club and if it takes off I might make it a real member club that people can join :)

I've been actually making a dent in my book pile recently, and currently I'm reading a book that has all three books from the series. They are so good, some hilarious moments in them (they are set in the 1800s, about as late as I like to read) and it is so hard to put it down (went for the walk with the family today and was reading as I walked XD). I can't recall for sure what the first two were called but the had something to do with Bride, the last one being the Bride Blunder and it has to do with a guy who writes a letter to a girl he liked back East asking for her hand, but because she has a cousin with the same name and she herself is engaged, they think it's the cousin he wants XD right off his cranky grandmother cues her in to the mistake and I laughed so hard at her antics I really can't wait to finish it XD

I read a lot, probably too much for my own good (xD). No, not joking. I'll stay up late reading when I have to get up at 6 in the morning. One book I'm rereading is Wish by Jake Smith. Here's a list of books and series I love:

I love Percy Jackson, Kane Chronicles and Magnus Chase, all by Rick Riordan. I just ordered his Apollos Trials with a gift card I've had for over a year (it's a Barnes and Noble one and we don't have that or any book store within 3 hours of us :/) which sounds like it will be really hilarious XD

I read Boneman's Daughters by Ted Dekker a few years ago and really liked it. I want to read more of his books however I haven't gotten around to it. So many books, so little time, sometimes so little motivation.

Anyone know of any books that don't have romance in them? It makes me uncomfortable and almost all the books have romance. Thank you!

Depending on what you mean by romance PurpleMagic, if you like mysteries Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys are both series without any real romance in them. They do date, but the most romance they get/give is a kiss and the most descriptive it gets is to say he gave her a kiss on the lips.

PM - if you're okay with graphic novels, Ms. Marvel and El Deafo just have small crushes, but no romance. A Corner of the Universe by Ann M. Martin I don't believe has romance but it is SAD. Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie the main character does date a girl but it's not really an in depth look at their relationship, mostly just just comments on it.
