Looking for an inkscape mentor?

Well I just had a hand at my first piece of digital art and well.... yikes

I would be really grateful if anyone could help me out with the 'tricks of the trade.' as a painter in real life, I absolutely love love art and am very keen to learn!

I would be looking for someone to basically show me the ropes, and how to create lines and then fill them with a variety of colours and patterns on Inkscape or a similar program.

I would much prefer this to not require payment, but will be more than happy to return to favour in any way possible(:

Ohgosh. Inkscape is the most confusing program I have ever tried. And not really the best for the kind of art your trying to do (at least I thinkso) Unless you just want to try and make vector art XP


Sadly I could never get the hang of inkscape, so I cant really help.
