I'm in 3 official breed clubs here on EV. Each of these clubs has at least 30 people in them. They're each also running fun contests like Mascot of the Month and other awesome events. I've entered all the great contests my horses (or myself) qualified for. What's puzzling me is that there are very few other entrants in these contests! Why? Why wouldn't you want to have some fun, support your favorite breed(s) & try to win prizes? I know some clubs don't have presidents, but many do and those presidents are working hard to come up with these contests to build the community spirit in their clubs.
I truly understand that real life comes first & that we're all busy, but take a minute or two to join in on your clubs' contests! They're great fun & you could win some great prizes! Thank you! (For the record - none of the clubs I'm in asked me to write this. They had no idea I was thinking of making this post. I'm writing this because I want our EV club communities to have fun & grow. I hope I'm not in violation of any of EV's rules. If I am please delete this & let me know. Thank you!)

I think a thread like this could be a great way to stir up more interest in club contests. :) It certainly couldn't hurt! Maybe we could use this thread to discuss contest ideas/ways to get more people to enter contests?

I think it's just hard for every club member to see the contests since there aren't club newsletters...

I think this is something lots of clubs can struggle with, in EV or real life. It can be hard to get out there and known, and to really get an active following.

as president of the appaloosa club, I always try to offer contests to my members..I currently have 4 going ( 2 are longer in duration) and I try to ensure my forum topic is bumped frequently throughout the day and that the club website is up to date..

I'm sure club newsletters would be a huge help, but we as club members have to do our part as well. There's a whole Forum section dedicated to our Official Club posts and all of the club contests are listed there for us.

As president of the Andalusian club, I would really, really like to see more people get involved with clubs in general, regardless of breed. It is discouraging, to some extent, to have little-to-no involvement from club members (I had 4 entries for April mascot and NO submissions for a club card - last month I had no mascot submissions, so I used one of my own horses, and only one club card entry, which I'm reusing for this month - next month I'll just make it myself).
