I was thinking about it, and maybe we should be able to un-geld a horse since we have Loki's Dagger. If it does become a thing, hear me out. On another Sim, somebody accidentally gelded their 1 of 1 color rarity Apicot Brindle boy(he had a ton of different white markings, I don't remember them though) and they were rather distraught. As there's no way to reverse it, if you accidentally geld the wrong horse , there's no going back. If we geld a horse, we have maybe like 3 hours to undo it and only if we were the ones to geld them. That way, gelding and selling horses still works if you didn't want to kill the horse, but you don't want it to be bred either.

The only thing that concerns me is someone will try to exploit this if it was put into action. I'm a little torn. 🙃

You can’t accidentally geld a horse… it has an “are you sure?” pop up. If you’ve blocked pop ups then the action won’t complete.

No support. This is unrealistic, and like Maple said you can't accidentally geld a horse.

Well, I don't play that one anymore, and I used it as an example :P And also I've seen many horses with the same name, often just New Foal, so it could be easy to pick to wrong one and them oopsie you just gelded one of your better horses.

If a horse doesn't have a proper name to where you don't know who you are gelding, then the horse should be given a unique name before gelding him. Accidentally gelding a horse named New Foal when several of your horses are named that is entirely the player's fault. Each horse should have their own name or symbol that means broodmare/stud/gelding/sale/etc to ensure that you don't accidentally geld a stallion.

Support. I don't see how it can be exploited with a time limit, tbh. If the owner can reverse their mistake within the time frame, I think it's reasonable. If the owner decided to sell/transfer the horse, they will get a warning that if a horse gets sold, transferred, etc, then the countdown will be automatically removed since only the original player who gelds them can reverse the mistake. They can decide if they want to go ahead and remove the countdown and sell/transfer or undo their mistake and sell/transfer.

I don't support because like others have said, it has a pop up to make sure that you want to geld and it wouldn't be realistic. It's not like you can reattach the body parts to a real life stud if you remove them. I could be wrong, but EV prides itself on being a realistic horse sim game. Sure there's items to change the gender of a horse, but I just see no reason to reverse gelding. I didn't think many people gelded on here anyways, because it's simple to just not have them for stud.

@Lucia - Hardly any players even bother with gelding their stallions. It's easier to just not put them for stud then spending money on gelding them. Just as simple as that. Gelding them only costs money, and it doesn't really change anything. If players gelded their stallions a lot more then they do then I would support, but I don't. There's no point in adding this if a select few players actually use this feature.

@ Lucia~ My browser(Microsoft Edge) is freaking slow and randomly just decides to take a dump on me and spend 2 minutes loading a page that's usually instant.

I don’t see a need for it, if you don’t know the name of the horse you’re going to geld it’s nothing more than your own fault. I have gelded horses before and have never accidentally gelded the wrong horse due to site loading times or errors.

@ Wey, it's not necessarily our own fault. There are many reasons why people can make mistakes. Being neurodivergent is one of them. It's not easy to keep track of everything when our brain is not neurotypical. Personally, I have a good system set up to help me to keep track of things. However, when I am younger, I was a hot mess. It took me a long time to figure out a system that works. If a younger version of me is playing here right now, she most likely will make that mistake unintentionally on her bad days despite trying her best to not make that mistake. Telling people who are already struggling that it's their own fault only makes things harder for them.

mhm, again, great points, Lucia. I already knew Horseigrl had no horses, so why would being able to un-geld a horse within a small timeframe affect her? And Wey, I know my browser stinks, and some players' browsers are worse than mine. AND if they are having internet issues at the moment, it's more than likely for accidents to happen. Plus, I have two Teke boys, Pan's Mysterious Path and Pan's Theoretical Path. Theory is the sire, but the names are so similar if I decide to geld one of them, it'd be quite the nightmare if I accidentally gelded the wrong one.
