Welcome to POA Breeder’s Association!
Here we offer an organization dedicated to Pony of the Americas Breeders, who want to find other breeders!

POABA general application rules
To be admitted into either registry, all horses must meet the following requirements, in addition to their register specific requirements:



- Must be at least 3 years old
- Must not be cubed or treated outside of selected discipline
- Must have no more than 60NSS in selected discipline
- Must have a minimum of 6 good conformation stats
- Must stand 11-14.3hh
- Must visibly display the leopard complex (LpLp/nLp)
- Must not display any paint markings (To/O/W/Sb/Sp)


POABA open registry standards
All open registry applicants must meet these additional requirements:



- Must have no visible inbreeding on the first page of pedigree
- Must not contain any ancestor outside of accepted breeds listed below
- Must have a minimum of 200 base stats
- Must contain at least one appaloosa in pedigree
- Must be 3 generations free of paint markings (To/O/W/Sb/Sp)


POABA open registry approved breeds and crosses:
- All open registry applicants must have the following mix of bloodstock.
- All open registry applicants must have at least two foundational breeds in their lineage, in addition to an appaloosa
(This requirement is satisfied at minimum with one ancestor containing any of these breeds)
* Adalusian blood is only accepted through Spanish Mustang or Hispano-Arab crosses.



Accepted purebred horse breeds: [foundational]
Arabian
Quarter Horse
Thoroughbred
Morgan
Mustang
Appaloosa

Accepted horse crossbreeds:
Quarb
Appendix QH
Anglo-Arab
Araloosa
Morab
Hispano-Arab (Andy x Arabian only)*
Spanish Mustang (Andy x Mustang only)*
Appaloosa Sporthorse (Appy x TB only)

Accepted purebred pony breeds: [foundational]
Shetland
Welsh Pony
Chincoteague

Accepted pony crossbreds:
Welara
Quarter Pony (QH x accepted pony breeds only)


POABA foundation registry standards
All foundation book applicaticants must be 1st generation cross of an Appaloosa and one of the the following breeds:



- Shetland
- Welsh Pony
- Chincoteague
- Arabian
- Morgan
- Quarter Horse

- Must have a minimum of 150 base stats
- Must not have visible lineage with paint markings (To/O/W/Sb/Sp)

I joined(on my main acc), been wanting to do POAs for a while now :D

One question: why do they have to be 3y/o to be registered?
