Mustang Lovers?

I love them so much. My main goal will be their health and then stats. Color isn't important to me at all though. I'm thinking of doing a test breeding when I'm able to breed. I'm going to be careful about my breeding's. I'm not one of those people who will breed just because I can. A lot of thought will be put into it. Until my horses have all perfect I'm not going to be selling any of the mares. Stallions will be gelded before being sold.

What are your goals in breeding? What do you breed for, ect?

I used to have a fairly large herd of mustangs, but I didn't like the recode art for the patterns I'd been breeding for (overo, tobiano, and sabino), so I sold all but four horses. My goal with my lines pair is stats, and then I have a second gen that I bred, and her store mate. it's hard to have goals with so few horses, but stats are definitely my priority :)

as kahzie stated, mustangs were also my favorite in the old version, though the new patterns made me really dislike my herd, so I tried to sell out all patterned horses and any of the stock that I wasn't completely attached to.

I now breed for solids with ONLY face/leg markings, or roaning. I don't mind the silvers, and since all my sootys were removied with the recode, I don't have sootys either. I won't be making anymore foundation mustangs, though, because I'm focused on other breeds now, but I've invested real money for credits into my mustang stock so I'll definitely be keeping them around.

I breed for stats, then conformation, then color. I stay away from the paint patterns and now flaxen because I don't like the flaxen color, either. I breed for champagne and double creams, and roan patterning. The only paint pattern I'll consider keeping on my mustangs are splashes and sabino.

I mostly breed for stats, but will admit I have bought a Mustang or two because of their looks. Most of my Mustangs were solids before the recode so I didn't have much of a problem when they switched over. I only breed each pair once and I don't breed until they're at least 19. I'll continue breeding for stats in the future. I'm always happy to talk about our EV horses so feel free to message me anytime!

Thank you responses. It's nice to know what people breed for. When my horses are 19/20 years old I'm going to decide who will be bred together. I really want to breed the best I can.

Does anyone inbreed/line at all?

I believe there is actually a block on this version where it doesn't allow you to inbreed/line breed, however I may be mistaken.

Inbreeding/line breeding is generally something people try and avoid, though.

Yup. That's right, there is a block. I bought so many great horses that health/confo shouldn't be a problem. Now to get their stats up. So can't wait til my horses are 19/20.
